Aqua Rite T cell question

You can put $800-900 into the T15 cell or move to Circupool and get an RJ45+ or RJ60+ and drop just another $400 or so to get out of the Hayward ecosystem. Then your cell exchanges will be at least $200 less than Hayward cells down the road. Circupool works as well and lasts as long as Hayward does.
I don't know much about this stuff (obviously) - but comparing prices on the rj45 ($870) and rj60 ($955) cells - it doesn't seem like much of a cost saving over the $899 for the Hayward T15? I'm comparing Circupools own site vs Amazon there though

Successful SLAM, 2.5 ppm FC loss over 4 hours during day and CYA at 40ppm

So I'll be watching my neighbors pool while he goes on an 9 day getaway. The plan is to bring it up to slam level and then every three days Ill bring it to slam level.
BTW , I live about 45 miles from Orlando and using 3.5-4.0 ppm chlorine each day.

How many days are you leaving for?

Do you have a neighbor that can dump chlorine for you during pump run hours?

Leaking Threaded Connection

Hey thanks, the white fitting did come with the pump, along with some tape. I would describe the theads as straight and not tapered, but long story short the pump was replaced under warranty and they sent the new fitting with it. An installer set up the original pump and system and I replicated what he had done with this new pump. It did not have a visible O-ring but I wasn’t sure if there was an internal gasket I’m missing? It’s barely leaking now but I’ve retaped it and tried it three times and it still leaks a little. I feel like if I try to tighten the threaded fitting while it’s in place it maybe leaks a little more.

The Story of 3 Fried Phones

Ha ha yes me as well. All my phones have been Samsung. I just bought my replacement for the one I fried - S23. Be here this week. I am a glutton for punishment I guess.

Eh, I am a Samsung person myself. My wife still likes Pixels. If we have to use the other persons phone for some reason, it is a total mess.

Water flow only to pool slide but not the jets

I opened my pool for the first time this spring. My pool slide gets water flow but none of the 4 jets are getting water flow. Trying to see if anyone can give recommendations to troubleshoot. I took the plugs out of the skimmer and jets and screwed in the jets contraptions. The water flow to the slide is extremely strong so I don't think it's a pressure issue. I checked both values and they are on open position. I believe the slide is on the same line as the jets so not sure why that would be getting water flow but none of the jets.

Any recommendations or insight would be greatly appreciated.

Aqua Rite T cell question

Welcome to the forum!
In our climate get the T15. The FC loss per day is higher here and that way you will not have to run the pump as much each day.
To keep the cell from scaling up, you need to manage your water chemistry. I suggest you get your own test kit. See Pool Test Kits - Further Reading
I suggest you read through Pool Care Basics - Trouble Free Pool and even look at a few of our videos TFP-TV - Trouble Free Pool
Thanks for such a quick reply!

Would it be worth the time/money/effort to replace the board still? Or just swallow the cost on the T15 forever moving forward (which isn't awful if it actually lasts its life span I guess)?

There was a T15 in place when I got here, but if I'm reading the serial number correctly, it was made back in 2018, so not really a surprise it wasn't working when I moved in

New Pool Owner!

Hello Everyone! After going back and forth for 12 years we finally decided to take the plunge and build our first pool in Katy, Tx (Houston area)! It is 15,000 gallons, gunite, pebble tech. We are so excited but as many of you, afraid of the water maintenance part. About to order my test kit and wanted to know what are your suggestions? I am thinking of the Taylor Kit. I thank everyone in advance for all the help and suggestions along this journey. Thanks!!

Intex 18 foot pool, support bars rust/hollowed out from rust near base now, adding supplemental replacement exterior support?

I had previously had some rust on the upper t part of the bar at the top of the pool, i've managed to get around most of that through repeated rustoleam year after year (on year 9 now believe it or not).. i'm trying to get 2-3 more years out of this if i can (cause otherwise i have to tear it down and replace it entirely i guess, or go from 18 to 24 foot ideally which means modifying the deck).

I noticed that 2 of the bars where they go in the ground have rusted out that half the material is gone, though if i give it a good shake i think its still stable. The deck adds support to the one side, these two are on the open back side.

I'm wondering if i could or even should, try pounding in some sort of (metal?) stake just in front of these two supports and maybe somehow tying them together, though my concern is disturbing the base area where the rusted part is, i think it may work?

Also thought, at least for the one support at ground level that has lost material, maybe there is some sort of spray that would harden i could fill that area with?
For the spots on the upper part of the bar (vertical) that have some serious rust and erosion, thinking maybe some sort of clamp with ties could be put around that area to add strength? ("hole clamps or bigger ones with something in between that can loop around it ")

***
I did see one other post of someone that actually used wood (vertical) and a wood clamp at the top (replaced whole pole all the way around, but i dont want to get into that), i guess a similar thing could be done for one or two but the wood vertical post would have to be in the ground a good 2 or 3 feet maybe and some cement, that would add obvious support "behind" the existing vertical bar, i think. I may try this but avoid digging and somehow put a brace around the base of both the wood and existing metal pole so the cement can harden into a "Boot"

Anyone ever salvaged a few supports like this by adding something else? I think its fine for this season, but beyond that, i dont know how critical one or two supports would be and dont want to find out :D
Ill add photos later
Pictures would help, but beware of what happens when they break and make sure no one is in the pool when it does.
