A good backwash hose

Will I be cutting the end connector off and sliding the cut hose over the pvc pipe on the filter? Would have to use the clamp tightener obviously.

Or would the end connector fit over the pvc, or would I need to buy an adapter?
The 1.75 inch fire hose usually comes in 50 feet lengths.

I cut a piece long enough for a quick backwash to a convenient area. The cut end goes on the 1.5" PVC pipe. I removed about 4" of the outer cloth jacket, exposing the inner reinforced hose - then sanded the end of the PVC pipe a bit. I put a little pool lube on the pipe to aid sliding the hose on. The hose will be tight on the pipe but you will still need to secure it. Use two stainless steel hose clamps to secure.

Leave the metal connectors on. This allows you to increase the hose length (or add additional hoses) when needed. I add an additional 50' hose and the extra cut piece when I need to drain my pool as I use the sewer cleanout in my front yard to drain.

After use, I roll the hose up and store it outside in a partially shaded area next to the pool equipment.

Wiring help for a CircuPool RJ60+

I just did a RJ60 install on a jandy system on Friday but I have no pictures of the relay setup. Whichever relay you think is for the pump should have the load side power off and on with the press of the pump button while having the meter connected. If the pump is wired to the load side you'll need to move it to the line side which is constantly powered and then connect the RJ60 controller to the two load side contacts on the dame relay. MAKE SURE TO SWITCH THE CONTROLLER BACK TO 240 V BEFORE HOOKING IT UP TO THE RELAY.

Does anyone have a good aftermarket equivalent for Pentair 263042Z?

Post pics of your equipment pad from a few different angles showing the locations of the 4 check valves.

While a flapper coming loose or breaking every so often isn't unheard of, needing to replace them every 6 months shouldn't be remotely necessary.
Post up the documentation supporting this replacement interval when you find it.

A good backwash hose

A 1.75" fire hose will fit (tightly) over a 1.5" PVC pipe.

You can sometimes get a decommissioned fire hose from the local fire department.

Spa cracks that need repair

To help with your questions in post number three,
From the pictures provided it doesn’t appear to be a Gunite product/application issue, the failure is in a direct line that also continues to the deck, typically not filled with Gunite.
Earth fill movement (trenches) = plumbing backfill
Investigating what was in this area prior to Gunite may hold the answers to the current failure.

Your VS pump should get constant power and not be switched on the LOAD side of the relay.

I think the two wires are for your pump and heater.

The pump wires should be moved to the LINE side screw to be constantly powered. Then you have room to put the heater and SWG power under the LOAD screw.

You need to trace and confirm the existing wires to understand what you are doing.

I don’t know why your SWG did not get power before. I would have needed to see how it was connected.

Replacing pool pump - where do I cut old plumbing?

I tried looking at those, but they're all quite a distance away, and closed till Monday. Let me ask this way - is it safe to assume that if it says Schedule 40, like on the site below, then it's good for pool use?
I cannot answer that question. They do no provide sufficient technical detail. Plumbing house is your best bet. Make sure it is sched. 40 or dual use and pressure rated.

What causes this?

Lol, that looks like it is full of water. When full it won't look like it has water. Only if it has bubbles will you perceive water.

If your returns have flow (you can feel the water coming out the returns), your pump is full of water, and is moving water, and doesn't have air.
I don’t think there is water because I can see/hear the leaves being blown around.

I do feel air/jets/water? coming out of the returns.

What causes this?

It does not have any water and has never had any in it since we opened it a few weeks ago

So you are saying this should have water in it?

What causes this?

I went out and checked the pump. The light was on the “1” and I think the rpm is 3450? I tried to push 2 and 3 to check those but it would not allow me to push them.

I took a picture of the pump basket. It does not have any water and has never had any in it since we opened it a few weeks ago, other than this evening when water was swishing around when the toy was stuck. So you are saying this should have water in it?

Pool cleaner recommendation for stubborn debris?

Loki,

I had the Dolphin Premier and I doubt it will do what you want..

Does it look like this...?

1747536813479.png

If so, it has two small suction slots and very small filters... It is a 10 or 15 year old design...

I've moved on to the EVO, but I am not sure it would work for what you have.. Seems like the cones would just get jammed up in the suction ports...

Not sure it is even possible, but I would try to find someone local that will let you try out their robot for a couple of days.. Some Pool Stores have loaners.. Unfortunately, the only way to know for sure if a robot will work, or not, is to actually try it...

Thanks,

Jim R.

Replacing pool pump - where do I cut old plumbing?

So it turns out it's impossible to find 2-1/2 Schedule 40 PVC pipe anywhere near me, they have every other size except for this one (Home Depot doesn't carry it, neither does Lowes). I found one seller on Amazon offering it for $45, but the shipping is like 2 weeks:

I also found one on plumberstock.com, for only $10, but am not sure if it's rated for pool pressure:

Any tips?
