First time pool opening and a lot of conflicting information

Yes.
You need pool math. Download it, login with your TFP login/password, configure your pool. Enable sharing with TFP so we can see your results. Link-->PoolMath
First, start testing with 10mL of water for the FC test. Each drop is .5FC. Plenty accurate and will save reagent.
I would add enough liquid chlorine to get to 10ppm, and retest FC 30 minutes later and report that. Use pool math to get amount to add.
Wait 10 minutes after you add the liquid chlorine, then reduce your pH by .4, use muriatic acid, test pH again 30 minutes after addition. Again use pool math.
Post the 30 minute after FC results and pH picture.

First time pool opening and a lot of conflicting information

Ok thanks everyone. I ran the test on my k2006.

I filled to 25mL
I have .6ppm FC (took me 3 drops to go colorless)
3.6 CC (took me 18 drops to go colorless)
As for the CYA test, I filled to the top but could still see the black circle (pic included)
Ph: a little confused here. I think it was 8+ (pic included). I did the acid demand test, and it took me 2 drops to get to 7.6. Hopefully that’s helpful.

Is this enough information to get started?

Can’t find system setup options after upgrade to iAquaLink 3.0

After replacing the PCB and adding iAquaLink, I cannot find the usual system setup settings in the iPhone app or on the website. This system does not have a wired controller. Am I going to have to buy one just to configure the rest of the system settings? I used to have AquaLink PDA system, but the PDA died which provoked me to upgrade.

Autopilot Dig 220 - Read Light - Purifier off Check Flow

Hi.

Completely befuddled. Baskets clean, pressure extremely strong at 28, checked union screen in autopilot and it's clean. Backwashed and hosed out grids. Removed Tri Sensor and no scale or build up. Did the rubber band test and the light when off when I replaced it with rubber band on it. That test is you take a rubber band and secure the paddle to the plastic piece behind it on the tri sensor. Took it off and have the red light again.

Any feedback? Really appreciated.

Pool Unlevel

Hello! We had the pool pad (ground) professionally prepared, but installed the pool ourselves. The pool is a used 27ft 52in metal frame pool. Not intex. We’ve added the liner and some water has been delivered. About 10 in of water. Measure the water levels around the pool and in most areas it’s within 1 inch. However about 48 inches of the northeast side is 2 inch off! The manufacture says over 3 and over is a no go. Really don’t want to tear down and redo bc we’ve put a lot of blood sweat and tears into it! Pictures at this point wouldn’t show much or I would attach. Thanks for any advice even if I don’t wanna hear it. ;)

Noob to the forum. Looking for CYA advice

Clean your test vial...rubbing alcohol and dry it. Try it again.
Also, what are the dimension of your pool? L/W shallow D and deep D?
Also, next time you add, wait 30 minutes and test FC, report that too.
Fc 12.5, CC 1.5
I think i should just continue testing it and see if the fc drops in a couple hours. What di you think?

Pool remodel... Add spa, plumbing, automation

Whirlwind of a few weeks... I did have time to go thru those pages.
What we want to do with automation. Turn on Spa mode, Pool mode, Bubbler, Spa Jets, Heater and lights.

We are going to simple it down.
So it would be a

Pool & Spillover Spa setup with a bubbler. Separate jet pump for Spa. Bubbler on pool mode.
2 pumps, Filter, Heater, SWG

So that puts me at 3 actuators.
Suction, Return and Bubbler (Pool mode)

On my HVRLs
1, Spa & Pool Lights. Ideally separate but have seen smart transformers.
2. Air Blower
3. Possibly (Whisperflo vst one speed jet pump)
4.
(2) expansion available

RS 485
1. Pump
2. Pump (if compatible)
3. Heater

Spa plumbing
Max 8 definitely jets. 6 on seating and 2 on lower. (Still debating if worth it for lower)
2 Drains to Filter, 2 drains to jet pump

What do you think Allen?

Suction
  • (2) Spa main drains (split by tee)
  • Pipe Size: 3" PVC dedicated suction line
  • Design Flow Rate: ~120 GPM total
  • Velocity in 3" Pipe @ 120 GPM: ~3.4 ft/sec (well within NSF-50 < 6 ft/sec limit)

Return

  • Jet Return Manifold: 2.5" PVC from pump
  • Branch to Jet Loop: Reduces to 1.5" for distribution
  • Jet Loop Configuration:
    • 8 jets, looped or manifolded evenly
    • Each jet delivers ~15 GPM
    • 8x15 120gpm
  • Velocity in 2.5" pipe @ 120 GPM: ~5 ft/sec
  • Velocity in 1.5" pipe sections (short runs): ~8.5 ft/sec (acceptable in spa jet loops)

Jandy Pro Series TruClear

That stinks, but is pretty typical for the TruClear.
Just FYI AquaPure and FusionSoft are also Jandy products. They have 3 SWG systems - you were sold the worst one. We tend to not recommend TruClear for these reasons...

Poolmath calculation of chemical cost per use

While I can think of a few issues in programing this, I'd like to learn more about your end goal. Can you explain to me in detail what you wish to do with this piece of information and how it would help you in maintaining your pool?
thank you. Let me update and attach the spreadsheet I use for maintenance cost to serve as guidance. Might take me to the weekend to send it.
Thank you for exploring it
