Heater issues Jandy JXI400NN

He said he wanted to give us the heater right before our current heater. I can ask for the specific number.

Please do.

He said the test he used doesn't test for salt? Does that make sense?

Nope. Not with customers who have SWGs.

Please see attached pics. Let me know if you need more.
Did your builder open up the heater internals and examine the heat exchanger?

I believe what you see is the copper heat exchanger deteriorating from poor water chemistry and causing copper staining.

Show us pictures of the heater.

The JXI400N is a workhorse that is fine for many people. Your Pool Builder may build fine pools but does not know how to properly manage pool equipment and water chemistry.

What model old heater does he want to give you?

Get your own test kit. Taylor K-2006C or Test Kits .

The water chemistry from your builder is sketchy.

You should have adopted TFP methods last year when you were here.
I was afraid of that (not knowing how to manage equipment/water chemistry).

Need help on how to use my new spa

Jerry,

You have two pumps.. One is your main pool/spa pump, depending on how the Intake and Return valve are positioned.

I 'assume' the other pump is just for your spa jets... Is this true? If so, when you turn on the Spa circuit, do both pumps come on, or just the main pump?

If you can, show me the "Circuits" page from your app.

I also 'assume' that when you are in the pool mode, that your spa spills over into your pool.. Is that true?? Does this happen all the time, or just a couple of times a day.

I do not see a way to turn your 2nd pump on or off from your EasyTouch panel??? Is it controlled by one of the unlabeled buttons?

To be honest, I'm trying to figure out how your spa gets water to spillover... At the moment it does not make sense to me..

Thanks,

Jim R.
Hi Jim,

where can I find the "Circuts" page in the app?

I will do some test to see which mode controls which pump, and get back. I felt the labels might be misleading.

New pool proposal

E,

Nothing to do with your proposal, but I don't like your stairs..

If you ever plan to do 'laps' in the pool, you only have one end..

I suggest that you add smaller stairs next to your sun-deck so that you can do laps.

And you also might think about going with a sports pool, so that you can do things like volleyball. Deep in the middle and shallow at both ends.

Thanks,

Jim R.

Who is in control of the Heat?

Ok, So I am the first to have this setup to test. Great. Pentair was useless and they just wanted me to get a service guy out. I got a regional rep who ave me a good idea to roll back to older firmware and test. I was able to go to 1.064 which is what the unit came with, no dice. I tried to install 1.047 but the intellicenter keep saying corrupt firmware. So, is it possible to install 1.047 just for testing?
