Help Please - Aux Relays Not Working

David,

You can guess or troubleshoot...

Tell us what the little LCD shows...

Do you have a voltmeter??

Thanks,

Jim R.
@Jimrahbe yes I have a voltmeter would just need a little guidance on where and what o am testing.

Trying to post a pic of the LCD front panel but having issue that the file is too big working on figuring that out.

LCD reads Auto and Pool no error messages and is running the program as normal.

Help Please - Aux Relays Not Working

A picture behind the deadfront panel where the breakers are located, will help us.

Is you pump wired to a relay? Or direct to breaker? Single SPD or VS?

Is your heater wired to the same relay as your pump? Is it on a relay at all?

Have you confirmed voltage on the Line side of the relay for your blower and lights? For the filter pump if on a relay?

I suspect your filter pump is direct to breaker, and all else are through relays. We need to confirm if you have voltage on the line terminals. Methods differ depending on 120v vs 240 items. We can guide you once we have a picture of your wiring.

The lack of a 'click' suggests the relays are not closing. Multiple relay failures are unlikely. We'll get suspicious of the board if we can confirm voltage on line side of all relays.
@bradgray the Pump is direct wired not on a relay. Pump is VS. Pump working fine and booster pump for spa jets working fine too.

I can get pictures after work today of the rear of the board / wiring for sure.

I do have a voltmeter would just need some guidance on where I am testing.

Appreciate your response.

Using well water to fill new pool

what will not be removed
Dissolved solids such as calcium, metals and salt. It may remove large particles / sediment that the filter would have also removed after the fact.
what will be the consequences?
You lost $35 for the hose filter. It only hurt your wallet.

Those things are almost laughable if you think it through. I dont know about yours but some claim to remove calcium for no water spots on your washed cars. 40k gallons worth, at that. But if your fill water is 170 CH, thats 63 lbs of calcium in that cute little filter. Really ? C'mon. :ROFLMAO:

Installing 24ft rectangular Intex on concrete pad

Congratulations on your new pool build. And good question.
Please give more information about the size and type of pool you're putting up. That way AGP experts can give good advice.
My 2 cents: when we installed our pool, it required the top of the pavers to be level with the ground (of which they are actually recessed) and plates under the uprights sat on top of the pavers. The wall track connects to the leg plate so it has to be at the same ground level as the legs.
Hope this gets you started. :)
Thank you :) The pool itself is 24ft x 12ft x 4 ft rectangular. I'm having a saltwater system.
Do you think the concrete pad the pool will sit on will be enough for the feet of the leg plates or do they need to be raised slightly with pavers?

Discrepancy between TFP test kit and Pool Math App

The values for TA from the TFTestkits are pretty outdated. The PoolMath values are always updated and should be the values to use instead of the TFTestkits card
Thank you for this clear answer. I let the pump run a couple more hours and the TA dropped to about 80, so I think I'm good.

Stuck on cloudy?

You didn't finish the slam...third criteria is clear pool.
I'd print and read the slam article again and follow it.
Do you have a ladder, lights or main drain?
No light, ladder was taken out for winter storage, has not been back in yet. No main drain. Will try it again this weekend. Starting to wonder perhaps I should just drain it all and refill it. Unfortunately I don't have access to a local pool place that offers those yellow fresh chlorine jugs. Only Walmart chlorine bottles. I used about 13 over the weekend. May be cheaper to just drain and refill it (20k gallons).

I am not a smart person. Re: Bioguard Sparkle Up

The Welcome to TFP.

Bioguard sparkle up adds cellulose to your pool to act as a floc or clarifier. Chlorine will do nothing to it. You need to be patient and allow your filter to get the stuff out.

What model filter do you have?

Clean or backwash your filter often until your water clears.

Maintain your FC and water chemistry as necessary. If your FC and CYA was low your pool may need the SLAM Process anyway.

TFP believes you never add anything to your pool without knowing the chemicals being added and the results you expect.

Thank you for the response! The filter is a Pentair Sand Dollar SD-70. I can’t speak to the last time it’s been clean, but assuming it’s been over 8 years - I’ve been here a little over a year, and the previous owners (that did zero upkeep to house nor pool) were here 7.
And, again, lesson learned. Never again.

Thank you!

Under Construction Pool - On Hold 5 Weeks

Hi. First time posting here. We have a new fiberglass pool installation in progress. We had some issues with the pool installer and now have to put the project on hold for about 5 weeks while we are away from home. Looking for best advice (other than cancel trip) to keep the pool in as best shape as we can until we get back. The pool is freeform fiberglass about 34'x14' abou 12.5k gallons. The pool is full and plumbed up to the equipment pad, but no plumbing or electrical at the equipment pad yet. So basically, a large bathtub with water that is already showing algae on top and has about a 1/2 of silt on the bottom from a very dusty environment during excavation/backfilling and wind. We have a ftiend (non pool knowledgeable) that is willing to spend some time to help... such as one person I talked to said maybe adding a large amount of chlorine once a week or so... but suggested posting to your forum.
Thanks in advance for any advice.

Mixed Instructions - VS Pump & SWG

One thing I should add: If you have the ability to hard wire it to ethernet instead of using the included wifi adapter, I would do that. The wifi adapter actually gets surprisingly decent range, but honestly I feel like the wifi functionality is still somewhat buggy and hardwiring the unit simply involves unplugging the wifi adapter from the PCB and plugging in another ethernet cable.

That being said, I haven’t jumped off my rear to do it yet. I didn’t even mount the wifi adapter. I just wedged it behind the control unit. Until the last 48 hours I’d never had any connectivity issues, and they’ve resolved just now.

And no - I don’t see it as an Alexa device. That doesn’t mean it isn’t. I’m not fully invested in Alexa and I still need to finish setting up my home network.
If you are in thunderstorm country having the WiFi air gap protects your home network from picking up outdoor EMP.

Thunderstorms blowing up outdoor electronics are expensive enough without it propagating through the Ethernet cable to blow out indoor network equipment.

Solar Cover Questions

I have a 18x36 pool that is like a rectangle where half of it is shifted two feet. I bought a 18x36 rectangular cover, but it into two 18x18 squares and then trimmed the corners so that it fits pretty flush.

By the way - I regret getting this shape and I wish that I just got a basic rectangle so that I could use a roller.

You can still use a reel. Have it go across about center of your pool where that jog on the sides happens. When you roll it up, it'll pull it up from there and roll both sides up on the reel. When you roll it out you will have to coax the sides out, but it's not that hard to do.
I have the area over my steps and bench in the shallow end cut as a separate piece.
Here is how mine is situated:
