    Dolphin Nautilus

I have a 24' x 54" above ground in Iowa. I have a aquabot pool cleaner now and would like to upgrade. I really want to get something that can clean the walls and waterline. I have spoken with my LPS and they said that an in-ground cleaner is suitable for above ground without issue (I was...

    AGP Hard Lines

Ok, I was originally thinking about pulling power to the pool, but I have another idea. I am thinking about pulling supply and return pipe for the pump and relocating the pump up to the house. It's about 20' from the new location to the pool. This way I can wire right at the house with a proper...

Salt Water AGP Closing and Timeframe

When is the best time to close my pool. I am located in eastern Iowa, and the temp here is still in the high 80's to low 90's. What do I need to do to make sure I don't open up 15,000 gal of split pea soup next spring?

    Replacing just the motor?

So, I love my filter but want to entertain the idea of a 2-speed motor. I want to keep the wet end pump, just replace the motor. I have the hayward matrix pump now. The RPM is 3450, can someone help me get what I need to make this work?

Summer Waves filter system to Intex Krystal Clear sand filter

It's funny now that you say that I had the similar issue with fitment. I went to the local pool place and purchased a Hayward skimmer unit, just the regular one. I drained the pool below the line and cut the vinyl to fit the skimmer face. It came with a U gasket so I fit that to the opening and...

    Skimmer question

Well think of it this way, if you ever have to change that skimmer again you'll have to break all that concrete out if you back fill with concrete.

How Big of a Deal is an Air Leak?

You know what they say....if air can get in, water can get out! Maybe that is not the case when it is running, but the pump doesn't run all the time. So to answer your question, I take air leaks very seriously.

    skimmer leak

I was literally going to say replace the whole unit. I am not one for fixing leaks in plastic below the water line. Judt not worth the risk. I say you guys made a great choice.

    Pool Plumbing issue

Why not just ditch the PVC from the filter to the pump all together. Get yourself a high quality 3-4' filter hose and some clamps, problem solved.

Summer Waves filter system to Intex Krystal Clear sand filter

I ran into this issue years ago when we had an Intex 14' round pool. I also purchased an Intex sand filter and it had a 3200 GPH pump motor. The issue I had was that the cheap Intex plastic hose would collapse from the suction pressure. I purchased a 20 foot hose from the local pool store that...

    AquaFirst Pool Rover

Actually the manual does say that a full cleaning and washout is required after use, which I did. While I did leave Steve in all night, I took his power supply in the house. I think I'll just plan on removing him after use and doing a full wash down.

    Intex SWG Homemade Adapters

A little more information on this particular setup. I am using the Intex SWG model # CS8110 w/Copper ionizer. I have removed the 2 copper bars and sealed the sockets that the bars were in with silicon sealant. I have used this unit for 2 years now, and it runs great. I clean the salt cell with...

    Intex SWG Homemade Adapters

So as we all know, Intex isn't AGP pump friendly out of the box. They obviously use some proprietary connections for their own pools and pumps. But, you can use adapt them with a little plumbing know how and the right items. This was my shopping list: 1 1/2" Female Adapter (Brand: Carlon...

    AquaFirst Pool Rover

I purchased an AquaFirst Pool Rover with my new pool. I got to use it for the first time two days ago and wow. This thing is heavenly and I will never miss vacuuming. Soon to be (maybe) pool owner

Sand is nice, and cartridge is nice but don't forget DE. Filters down to the finest micron and it's cheaper than cartridge filters. I use the Hayward EC50 with the bump handle to regenerate the filter. This limits the amount of cleaning. $30 box of DE powder I estimate will last me approx 2-3...
