Aqua Cool Mini Pebble with Touch of Glass

Your picture shows Aqua cool in what looks like a shallow part of your pool. Aqua cool will show a much lighter color in shallow depth … actually only a hint of blue and mostly an off white. In your deeper depths, the light blue color should show up more, though again, Aqua Cool is quite light compared to other colors in that area of the spectrum.

At the time my pool guy was helping me choose colors, he made sure I was aware that certain colors -including Aqua Cool and another I was interested in, Tahoe blue - would disappoint given my average pool depth being ~6 feet. In the brochure I kept, it shows Aqua Cool in varying shades/degrees of the color, with the pic of the shallowest of the 4 pool depth colors looking very similar to the color shown in your post.

Pool opening Slam, going well...ish

Tradional above ground, It will rise if given enough time. I wish I had a pic of it currently as I said I'm not not fussed about it being super clear right now. We didn't have a cover so I knew it was going to be a bit of work to get going this year. My expectations are low, slow and patient, but I expected to be clear enough to see shadows of anything on the bottom by now.

There's no foliage for probably 40ft around the pool in any direction so the only thing in it was blown in.

pH & TA

We have a water softener on our house but our pool is quite a distance from our house. May have to look into getting a water softener for it. We do have one in our RV that we don't use so we could incorporate that instead of it just sitting around being useless.
That’s your fix or you can keep on fighting.

What RPM are you running the pump?
Turn your pump down until the SWG flow switch turns off. Then add 200rpm. Run you pump at that speed. Will be fairly quiet.
I use intermatic wireless controller to manage both pump and swg so they turn on/off same time. And the speed i use is 2800rpm

I accidentally added1 bag of non 100% salt, am I screwed?

SHMP is used in Diamond Crystal brand Bright & Soft Salt Pellets for water softeners in a concentration of 0.03%. It is the only additive other than sodium chloride.

Do you have a whole house softener that you could tap into for your pool refills?

Or you can run your fill water through a RV water softener.

That should refute the TA and CH.

Retest time on chemicals

Is there better way to check the volume of the pool? I did some rough measurements and volume calculations but not sure how close I am to actual. I run a SWG so not overly concerned on adding chemicals but definitely do not want to over add acid as I adjust pH during the season.

Estimating Pool Water Gallons

If you need to get an estimate of the amount of water in your pool you can use the calculator at the bottom of the old Pool math web page. You simply enter the pool dimensions and average depth and it gives you the gallons of water in the pool.

Pentair has a Pool Volume Calculator that lets you select from rectangular, oblong, round, and triangle shapes.

There is also a Chemical Way of Calculating Pool Volume using an alkalinity test kit, sodium bicarbonate or acid, and the formula.

Irregular Pool Shape Area Calculator

Area of Polygon by Drawing is a neat website for plotting all those Freeform pools. The default shape on the graph is a pentagon but you can add points by pressing the up arrow and I got bored pressing it well after making a 100+ sided shape. If you zoom out on the graph you can make your Freeform pool shape with just a few measurements and round off all the extra points.

The area is shown up top at all times and multiply it by the average depth for cubic feet. Multiply that by 7.481 gallons per cf and it should be pretty accurate.

Subtract the last drop. I find that with new R-009, you typically have to wipe it once to remove static. I ended up just keeping the practice. Did you read the water testing errors article?
Yes sir. I am reading them now. Going to print and put in my pool notebook that I have started from TFP for future references. Thank you so much for being so kind to help me. 🤗🤗
