Ok yeah I'd rather not create a potential space for bacteria or algae to grow.

So if I plug the Polaris inlet and then split the output of my 2nd sand filter to have it feed both the existing underground plumbing and the Polaris outlet, that would mimic how it was being run before (water was just flowing through the Polaris without it being turned on). Am I understanding that correctly?

(Failed with first 60 days) First look at Pentair's new IntelliChlor Plus30

Warranty now includes an hour limit and a yearly limit.

The cell tracks hours of production and there should be a way to see this information.

29. What is the warranty of the new IntelliChlor Plus & LT SCGs as TradeGrade Products?

a. Three years for IntelliChlor Plus Salt Chlorine Generators (or 10,000 hours, whichever comes first) and two years for IntelliChlor LT Salt Chlorine Generators (or
6,000 hours, whichever comes first). For more warranty information, refer to www.pentair.com/warranty.
There are 8,760 hours in most years.

If you run your pump 24/7 and SWG more than 38% you will hit the 10,000 hours in less than 3 years.

3 year warranty is for Trade Grade cells.

What is warranty for replacement cells?

Oh forgot to ask. What should I do with the inlet and outlet pipes of the prior Polaris booster pump? Cap them or connect the 2 together?
The answer partly depends if that pump is feeding the heater.

Cap the inlet.

You can use the outlet as another return but it is not near where your other returns are.

You have to understand how your returns connect to your equipment pad.

Just make it an additional return to the pool.
You can always plug it. However, plugging it creates a space for bacteria to grow unless you can force air through it and plug the pool side of the vacuum connection. I had a equalizer line that was covered by a liner. Other end was plugged in the skimmer..but they left water in the line. Bacteria started growing and started to bulge the liner from the gas that was created. Vacuumed out all the water from the line and re-plugged.
There is no right or wrong - just need to be aware.

Hmm yeah I had a feeling you guys were going to say that. I just find it strange - wouldn't that mean that filtered water is returning back to the pool without going through the heater? Wouldn't that take it longer to heat the pool?
The heater puts out a fixed amount of BTUs (heat) as long as you have the minimum flow rate through the heater.

Having more flow does NOT give more heat.

You only need the flow of one pump to move the heat from the heater into the pool.

Liquid Chlorine vs Baquacil - Can someone provide the pros and cons?

I have never heard anyone complain that they installed too much decking but I have heard plenty of complaints that what was installed was not enough and they wish they had more. You can’t go wrong with as much concrete as your bank account and building code regulation will allow!!
