Which power cord to get for new pump?

That type of outlet is used on 240V 30A circuits.

It will take some rewiring to change that location to a 120V outlet.

Or run your new pump on 240V and get the correct plug.

Replacing pool pump - where do I cut old plumbing?

Thanks for the help everyone - especially people who saved me from waiting 2 weeks for 2-1/2" pipe and then finding out I need 2" :). I ran the new pump today, and haven't noticed any leaks so far. It's a cheap 1.8 HP variable speed pump, that replaced an old 2.5 HP Hayward pump. I love how quiet it is, even at highest setting. I can literally run it 24/7 and it will be still cheaper than running the old pump for a couple hours a day.

Question about older dolphin model

Hi everyone. Recently moved into a new home with IG and previous homeowners left me an older dolphin model (DX4). I think I recall the homeowner saying something new/replacement was needed - but looking at the system, I don’t see anything standing out. Is there anything from these pictures that seems off like it wouldn’t function? I plan to drop it in the pool today as a test. Thanks.

Jandy Pool Waterfall Pump caught on fire 🔥 Expert advise requested

This happened last night
Heard a loud “pop”
Went outside to find the Jandy Waterfall pump on fire
Unit is just under 4 years old

Q: any idea what might cause this ?
Should I replace with the same model ?

Video and pics attached.
Whatever the cylinder thing is on top of the pump blew off and landed about 10ft away in my yard

If the circuit breaker is not tripped, go turn it off now. Hopefully it’s tripped.

Tiny bit of black algae in corner - keep slamming?

I'm not 100% sure if it's inside the vinyl or not. I did dive down and scrubbed it with a stiff brush and a chlorine tablet. It did not seem to make much of a difference. I'm wondering if this is even black algae at this point. It really just looks like black spots on the vinyl but doesn't seem to be protruding or able to be scraped off when diving.

Which power cord to get for new pump?

Hello everyone,
I'm seeking advice on selecting the correct power cord for my new pool pump, the Super Pump® XE, Ultra-High Efficiency Pump, 1.65HP (SKU: SP2610X15XE). The pump did not come with a power cord, so I'm looking at these two options:

My previous Hayward pump (1HP) used a power cord with a unique horizontal flat prong that matched my existing outlet (I've attached a photo for reference), but I haven't been able to find a similar cord online. I will replace the outlet for the new cord.
My questions are:

  • Which of these cords would be best suited for my new Super Pump XE?
  • Do I need to set the pump to 115V if I use either of these cords? (I've found this video showing how to set the voltage.)
  • Are there any safety or compatibility issues I should be aware of with these cords?
I prefer using a power cord so I can easily disconnect and store the pump indoors for the winter. While a pool electrician recommended hardwiring it, I'd like to avoid the extra cost and hassle of unwiring it each season.
Any insights or shared experiences would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Iaqualink and Jandy Heater

I was just now able to circle back to this. I checked the control on the heater and put it in remote mode that did not help. They ran a 4 wire control wire to the aqualink control center just like mine.

At this time the only way to turn on the heater and control it is to walk to the side of the house to make those changes at the heater itself.

Am I missing a setting in the App? I do not recall where there is a setting for heater.

Jandy JXI 260P High Flue Temp

I did notice through the sight glass that the flame was yellow/orange in color, which to my understanding could indicate incomplete combustion. Could this still be sensor related?
A sensor does not cause incomplete combustion.

You either have too little air or too much gas flow.

Check gas pressures with a manometer.

Check the air blower for proper operation and amps.

Dolphin Premier - robot noob Qs

Al,

The reason that they do not want you to use an extension cord is that they are afraid that as the robot moves, it will pull the power supply into the water..

There is no reason you can't mount the power supply to something that won't move, and then connect the power supply to extension cord..

Chlorine will not cause any damage to your robot except change its color over a long period of time..

I am curious why you bought the Premier???

Thanks,

Jim R.
