RPM changes for Intellitouch Not Holding when using phone or computer

So in your speeds you have a Freeze speed. That caught my attention because I've never set a Freeze speed on an installation. I always setup Freeze protection in the Circuit setup as explained earlier. I don't know what is causing your issue so I've been posting things that I would be checking as if I was called to this issue as a repair call. I reviewed the Intellitouch firmware revision notes and there's several fixes in the firmware updates related to Freeze mode. Therefore I was targeting your Freeze speed and gave those recommendations to reset your VS pump.

If you don't have a desktop pc or mac to run the screenlogic software you can accomplish all those steps with the ScreenLogic Configurator App or on your MobileTouch - just a different interface and different steps to take.

Noob to the forum. Looking for CYA advice

The chlorine you added just staved off algae growth, and led to some *likely* minor CC elimination or maintenance of status quo. The chemistry is complex WRT the controlling/eliminating CC and killing algae. CC elimination (break point chlorination) will take some significant amount of chlorine to eliminate the chloramines, and will kill any algae.

Just follow the SLAM process. All will be good.

New SWG; getting calcium flakes in the pool

I know you've been here since 2020 but looks like some of the basics may be part of the issue. Do you have a recommended test kit or are these pool store test results? Have you added any PS potions or are you using cheaper generics that we recommend? Lastly, can you please fill in your signature. It gets you quicker and better responses plus helps us to be efficient with volunteers time. I have very high TA well water and got the flakes you describe until I got the TA down well below 100. Also quickly deposited in the swg so I had to clean it within months of being new. Previous pool never had to clean it once after years of service. That one I managed to less than zero virtually 100% of the time. Usually between -.1 and 0. How big is your pool?

I hope this helps.

Oh Well.....time for upgrades Pentair Intellisystem 2007

I believe I have in this new to me house a 2007-2010 I believe (original equip) Intelliflo 1 or 2 3hp main pump with a sauna (1hp booster) spill over 17.5k main pool. I believe I have seen the demise of the pump coming from seeing metal chunks in filter housing last year and now while battling algae (like others have said..... 'I know I know',lol) anywho on the way to Pool store for a new brush that fell into the green, came back pump off, intellisystem is humming nothing on LCD and remote is inoperable. I manually get the LCD to show up after rebooting and clearing the tripped pump breaker, can see LCD for a short bit (air temp comes alive, sys function listed) til Pump circuit kicks in and she slowly fades away until I reboot again. After thorough cleaning of filters and baskets and salt cell, re-ran system just to hope......not some much, same results. So from afar, I believe main pump's done, filter housing isn't worth fixing the broken or missing pieces, but believe Intellisystem to be good and I just found out about Intellisystem upgrade kits and this sounds promising as well (sorry been Hayward guy for long while), propane heater and boost pump seem to function without issues. So my question is just knowing system age (new SWG last year only) and having put Solar Panels on this house recently, the new technology should be a worthy investment, but I ask you folks for confidence of my assessment (from afar) and your thoughts and different ideas that come from, also the other being way more out of my league and that is while system is down and if I can get rid of water (CA) should I maybe address re-sufacing or other structural (underwater concrete) age related things at this point, don't actually know of any problems (pool runs fine..... or did) or with plumbing, but neighbor had his pool done last year and this pool from what I understand is 3-5 yrs younger then his and I had no idea resurfacing was a thing, well at least until showing signs of disrepair first.......not sure right now, pools green, but was fine last time I saw LOL. TIA

Communication lost on VS pump and Intelichlor... Daily

Resurrecting this thread, Jim and Herman, thank you again for all of the help in the past, hope you see this. I swapped the wires before opening my pool yesterday, pump has power, no power to SWCG, as expected.

When I took it out of service mode, the pump didn't seem to be connecting, but I was pressed for time and just went back to service mode so I could make sure the pump stayed on since I was running out of daylight and wanted to shock, brush, and vacuum, so I could let it run overnight.

A couple questions:

1. When in service mode, the pump's screen should work like a normal non-IC connected pump, without needing to activate the pump circuit in service mode, is that correct? If I activate that circuit will it provide power to the SWCG since it's properly on the load side now?

2. When I take it out of service mode (going to play with it tomorrow), it's going to take probably 10-30 seconds for the pump communication to return, correct? At that point the pump should stop running (if it's still going manually) and return to "screen not active" on the pump? (Assuming there is no schedule that immediately takes over.)

Really appreciate your help in this community!

poolsupplydepot.net experience?

I have seen 0 reviews/comments on that supplier in 16K posts and likely higher viewing of posts.

The fact that the part number is an ISBN (book locator number) is a red flag.

And that it is $200 dollars cheaper than any other source. You decide.

The same is available on Amazon, from the Pentair store:

Trouble With FC Test TF-Pro Kit

The loss of CYA points to a possible ammonia issue.

This can take a LOT of chlorine to oxidize completely.

Keep at it and it will eventually break.

If it is ammonia, you should see a steady drop in pH and TA.

What does the water look like?
Thank you for your quick reply’s! The pool is mostly clear. This is a picture of it yesterday before I added cal hypo today. When the pool was open it was still clear but with some leaves in the pool. It took about 6 full cycles of my s200 dolphin to clear out the debris.

I’m working on linking my google account with my TFP account but here is a link to the pool: PoolMath Logs
