    Doheny's Discovery, S200, Active20, Triton owners club

S300 on the way from Marina. By far the cheapest around. I tried an older S300 Demo unit from the local pool store and it worked surprisingly well. Without the "swivel" cord tangles were minimal. I expect the swivel function will be that much better. Unfortunately they couldn't come close to...

    Winter cover- losing water

I'll try and scoop as much as possible off the cover first. I can put a hose under cover and add water. I actually started doing that and noticed since the cover is so low at this point all the water I was adding was just running through the holes in the cover to the top. Not what I was...

Thanks Allen.. sounds like the only solution. I was hoping there would be a "trick" someone had so all these leaves wouldn't have to fall in!

I'm right down the road from you in Jackson. Few folks on here from the area that are very helpful. Had above ground pools my entire life until we built our inground last fall. First year with the TFP kit and crystal clear water all season with minimal effort (I do have a swg though). Let me...

Water is currently clear. Will perform OCLT tonight and report back. Should I hold off on adding stabilizer overnight tonight while performing the OCLT? Steps say check FC 30 minutes after adding any chemicals. Not sure if stabilizer is included in this or if it just means chlorine chemicals...

Great. Stabilizer into the sock shortly. Thanks. Should I keep my FC's high at SLAM levels while the cya is doing its thing or let the FC's level off? Also, should I keep my swg off at this point or turn her back on? Thanks for your help!

Thanks for the input. I did start reading pool school, just a lot to absorb in a short time and didn't want my pool turning green. Lol So added what pool math told me (Walmart 6% bleach) and retested after 30 minutes. Here are my results. FC= 11 CC = 0 PH= 8.2

    Hello from NJ-question on winter.

I had an intex ultra frame up for 4 years. Kept it full. Just winterized it and covered it at the end of the season. Brought the pump into my garage for the winter. Never had an issue with the NJ winters. Only reason I took it down last year was to have my inground pool built.

    Heatpump & The Big Chill

I'm in nj too and they just finished my pool. I'm not worried as the cold is not significant enough to freeze yet and damage pipes. Should be fine for the next few weeks into December.

Help/input on concrete surrounding new pool

Thanks for the input peirek. We have a large deck that spans the length of the house and also a paver area for entertaining /outdoor eating where that walkway comes from. So the pool deck area will be for some lounge chairs, umbrella or 2 and a small table with just a few chairs (bistro style)...

Help/input on concrete surrounding new pool

Very true. As an example, the narrow walkway will save me roughly $1500. Removing the slide pad will save roughly $1100. So it definitely adds up, but I do agree with you.

    Electrical question on new build

Thanks. They were here today and I ended up going with the extra panel. The run was 200' from my house panel to the pool pad. $700 was for the new subpanel and 50' run. I ended up paying a little more than $700 ($1400 actually) for the longer run and panel, gas heater hook up, SWG hookup and...

    Electrical question on new build

Not sure. They have told me for my pump, light, gas heater and extra outlet a regular 20 amp circuit like in your kitchen would be sufficient.

    Electrical question on new build

Thanks everyone. Just found out my existing panels were full already. Electrician said we could "try" the double breaker option but may not pass inspection depending on the town. Plus the double breakers cost more already. I think this made my decision to go with the additional 40amp panel much...
