Hi! New pool owner in Jersey. Just got concrete Oct 20, was told 3 weeks until we can close for the season! Problem is, 3 weeks is tomorrow and the chill is moving in then -- 35F & then drops to 22F tomorrow night! I am told to keep it running, waterfall too, but I am terrified the freeze will ruin my brand new IBEXX heat pump (model# in my signature). Pool closing company told me not to worry -- I'M WORRIED!! Should I insist they close now ?? Save the inspection for the spring??? Thank you!

I'm in nj too and they just finished my pool. I'm not worried as the cold is not significant enough to freeze yet and damage pipes. Should be fine for the next few weeks into December.

Correct. The sub freezing temperatures would need to be day and night for multiple days to freeze moving water. Run your pump as the pool builder stated.
On another item - I see you have a "Pool Frog Mineral Purifier Chlorine system" according to your signature.
I would suggest doing a search on this forum using Frog. Not a good idea to use that for your daily maintenance chlorine and definitely do not want to leave the mineral cartridge in it.
