Let’s see your water after removing winter cover!! **RESURRECTED FOR 2025!**

I did it both ways and it wasn't that bad. For refrence, my 80+ oaks were so bad that I invented the leafdozer9000 for moving piles once I blew them waist high. I really don't want to hear how 'bad' anyone else's is if they didn't need to invent a leaf dozer. :ROFLMAO:

When the pollen strings were falling, I needed to dump both skimmer baskets before and after work for 2 to 3 weeks. That's it. Mildly annoying at worst. The pool may have been a little cloudy for the time if it was a bad pollen year. The 500 carts handled it fine and didn't even need a cleaning after, but i cleaned them anyway so I slept better about it.
WHAT IS THIS INVENTION?! How can you see over the wooden cart? I would need a booster seat. I’d be blind as a bat and destroy everything in my path! 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Low psi, pump basket not filling, waterfall not flowing 100%

That appears to be a Venturi of some sorts that controls flow to the spa for your spill over.
I have never seen that but others may know - @Jimrahbe or @PoolStored

The mechanical valve on the new set up (first picture you posted) shows that most of flow is going to pool returns and also some to the spillover. It may take longer for the spa to reach the lip to spillover but since there is no suction from the spa, the spa should fill then spillover to the pool.
Have you tried adjusting that mechanical valve to open or close more flow to the spa spill over?

My spa spillover was just a single jet into the spa (which was separate from the spa jets) so it did take longer to raise the water. Does water flow from a single jet when in this mode?

Universal led light fixture

Just bought this universal led light due to the government I guess banning the old light that was in my in ground spa, I need to know if this is acceptable before I fill it back up with water. Please help!

Let’s see your water after removing winter cover!! **RESURRECTED FOR 2025!**

popped the auto cover for a peek last week when it was 70F. Here in Indiana its 78F yesterday, but will be 45 tomorrow and probably snow in April. Water was crystal clear (sorry did not take a photo) with a few leaves. Water temp was 48F.

Plan on opening 1st or 2nd week of May
Can’t wait to see!

You're sitting pretty.

Do recognize you'll lose some FC per day now that it's open, but the days are still short and the sun angle low, so it might only be something silly like 1/4 FC per day. Test it weekly and add/brush as necessary.

You'll have it fired up long before you need to anyway.
Oh I already know. But that cheap cover was NOT surviving the winds from yesterday and today. Opening will be completed this week some time, so I can actually run the pump and filter. For me, this is considered a TROUBLED pool lmao

Air Leak In Filter?

Agree with @Rocket J Squirrel on all parts.
Take a picture of your equipment, especially the suction side pipework and maybe we can give you some ideas to check.
I've attached some pictures of various angles below. Any help/advice is gratefully received.

Could it possibly be that the band around the middle isn't tightened enough? It says that it should be tightened to 216 inch/pounds. So I went out and bought a torque wrench - but it didn't work. Or, at least, I couldn't get it to work. I tightened the stupid nut a great deal, but the torque wrench never 'clicked'. Mind you, the nut was squeaking so loudly it might be that I simply didn't hear it.

Let’s see your water after removing winter cover!! **RESURRECTED FOR 2025!**

Taken just now while we have a lil break from this insane wind and rain storms and have some sunshine. It looks SO MUCH WORSE than yesterday haha! Which I expected. Still clear enough to see the specs of dirt up close in person if you look close. Not vacuuming til tomorrow when the winds will be calm and sunshine all day. Here it is in its current state:

how to renovate 1 drain, 1 skimmer pool

If you're doing a major renovation, I would consider whether or not to keep the main drain. If you keep it, make sure it's VGB compliant. Sealing and abandoning the main drain is also an option. In either case, I would recommend adding a second skimmer if it's practical. It's best to have a dedicated independent suction lines for each skimmer and the main drain that terminate at your equipment pad.

What equipment are you planning on upgrading?

New build in Atlanta, GA - Nov 24

Ugh. We had an issue with the fill. They didn’t install a fitting for a return (or maybe just the autofill?) and we had a massive storm last night. So mud / clay starting pouring into our pool. Now the PB is saying in need to stop filling, they’ll have to drain pool tomorrow and acid wash again and refill…

I’ve heard to not stop filling once you start, but in this case given they’re re-acid washing, does it really matter?

Best way to remove calcium deposits?

Looking for advice on the best method to remove many years of calcium buildup here in Las Vegas.

Any suggestions?

Will be switching from pucks to SWG to address the high CYA and CH issues.

Thank you!
