Water is still cloudy after multiple treatments

ChatGPT says it will be safe
Swimming is safe between min FC and SLAM for your CYA level. (2 - 16 FC @40 CYA )

swcg_chart.jpg

The good news is chlorine burns off as a % of the CYA, so the much higher #s drop more per day.

Solely as an example : lets use 10%

10% of 55 is 5.5
10% of 5 is 0.5.

Its still going to take a while at 55 though. Report back when you test because it will be neat to see.

Need help with light issue

Hi all—I am replastering my pool and am trying to figure out what to do with pool light. It’s an older pool and the light never worked ever since we moved in and we had it taken out by a former pool guy to try and find a replacement. He cut the electric wire conduit and took the light. Guy has since disappeared and I do not have the light or know make or model. Current pool guys state it was in a metal housing and code prevents them from installing another light and attaching to current wiring and they can only install light that has direct conduit running from light to junction box. Does not appear we can pull out the current conduit. They suggest breaking into the plaster to remove metal frame and installing entirely new light. I don’t believe this is in budget. Other option is to plaster over the empty shell and don’t have through wall lighting but they are not sure if this can be done as plaster may not stick to the metal. Assuming this last option can work can anyone recommend any non through the wall lighting options? Thanks for the help and sorry for the length of the post.

My Water Softener Adventure

I'm not sure what the ROI is exactly. I had to buy
......I had to buy.......I had to buy.... And I don't know the longevity.....and I'm not exactly sure what I am going to do come winter time...... But, it really did work,
You set out to do something, and you did. Sometimes thats worth more than ROI. (y)
pH: 8.0
TA: 120
I'd run Ph in the low 7s until the TA is around 60. Normally I'm not a 'you should lower TA' guy, but it'll probably stop the precipitating if you do.

Once the TA is lowered, go back to running high 7s for Ph.

18 x 33 x 56" Semi-In Ground NJ

Welp I’m tired, wet, and I have chubb rub from the dirt gettin in my pants 😂 called it quits around 3 today when the rain picked up. I got the pool about 1/3rd back filled which will really be about 1/4 once the rain packs it down along with most of the trenches. Tomorrow is another day and I will probably end up running to y-buy to rent a dingo. Even if I'm just loading wheelbarrows with the dingo it'll be a time saver.

Water is still cloudy after multiple treatments

4 pounds of cal-hypo will add 15-20 ppm FC, depending on strength.

4 gallons of 10% will add 22 ppm FC.

Not sure which T-cell you have, but even the T-cell 3 can produce 9 ppm FC per day in an 18,000 gallon pool.

So 55 ppm is well within the realm of possibility.
Good to know. ChatGPT says it will be safe my next Monday/Tues given all the variables. Not great swimming weather in the 10 day forecast anyway.

Betta SE Plus skimmer robot and Ladders?

If the bot senses no movement as it would when it hits a solid object, it will back up, turn, and continue on.

According to the FAQ, if it gets stuck, it will, "stop and turn itself into ERROR mode when running into obstacles it can’t free itself from or getting stuck. LED lights at the top backside of the robot will show the error modes and the robot will restart by itself in 20 minutes."

My Betta SE Plus occasionally gets stuck in the skimmer, but that's because the it can't overcome the suction of the skimmer.
Thanks, Mike! That sounds pretty cool. Our skimmer isn't that strong so maybe I won't have to worry about that, or put a noodle piece in there. The thought of not having to hand skim as much sounds wonderful!
