Torch. Cause I know he asked his one guy if the propain tank was full. So I would assume a torch.
Any tile that we had below the water line was installed right before plaster so the plaster was the grout. I know it probably seems slow but you are progressing nicely.
Def grout the accent tiles with plaster. If your plaster has pebbles, they will grout with plaster before adding the pebbles to it. And yes they are placed in thin set like normal.
Our glass tile has to set for 21 days before being submerged in water. So they are going to do the thin set, place the tile, and let it cure for 21 days, then do the plaster and use plaster as grout.
Hopefully they get out and do the rebar and gunite soon! That is when you really feel like YES! I am getting a pool!
Calling Grumpie! He had them redo his since he did NOT like the grout. OH and they did the wrong color plasterThey used plaster the next time and it does look MUCH better. I think they put the pretties down then plaster around/over/between them.

Here I am! Yes I would definitely recommend using the plaster/Quartz aggregate rather than grout. It guarantees a consistent finish. But if you do choose to go grout, go with something that is a close match to your finish (White, light grey, blue, etc). Our PB originally used dark grey grout when we had a white based plaster. It looked like dirt and mold.
The good thing is you are asking these questions now. This topic was a complete afterthought for me, after the damage was done.
As for the brush, most standard pool brush poles extend to 15'.
