I'm sorry Beans !! You mentioned kinda being overwhelmed and I gave you more to carry on you plate. You don't *need* to test and add the approximate 1/3 way marks of your fill. It can wait a day until its full if you need a minute to catch your breath.

One of the biggest rules of TFP is to know what you are adding to your pool and know what it will do.

In this case you are adding approximately 5700 gallons of untreated water and can use PoolMath to understand what the finished product should look like. ****if you need something to keep busy instead of pacing back and forth watching it fill*** lol. If not just test it after and adjust accordingly

Your comparator maxes out at 8.2. That is what you enter into Poolmath.
I personally see that as 7.8 or maybe a bit higher.

What is your FC using the FAS-DPD test? If above 10 ppm, the pH test is invalid.

-CYA-oh how I hate this test!! SO here is what I came up with. When you go to see the googly eye just GLANCE in then look away! Do NOT look for the dot. Just GLANCE in. If you see the googly eye then pour to the next line. Do this line by line until you don't see the googly eye at a GLANCE.

Kim... I *hate* this test, too and your suggestions are very helpful! I often noted that I could see the googly eye if I looked hard enough at every level!!

Did you see where Marty said if your FC level is >10, the pH test is Inaccurate? Don't believe it and don't add acid based on it until you do a FC test <10.

I see a pH of 8.2 as well. But with your FC above 10, it is throwing off the pH test. I’d aim for a pH of 7.5 with the acid addition and see where that puts you.

Ok, that is what gave me those numbers so I will not add acid until the FC goes down.

Nope. At your FC level, the CH test is still valid.
