Indoor pool chemical troubles

Ok thanks

I've ordered a Taylor kit and am waiting for it to arrive.

In the meantime I think I've got myself into more of a muddle by using chlorine reducer and overshooting 😆 but it's all a learning experience

@rgs36 I've used the Palintest DPD tablets before and the main problem is they have a very limited test range "Range: 0 - 5 mg/L Cl2". As you've probably found if you go over 4 there's no way to know how far over you might be.

The FAS-DPD chlorine test in the Taylor kit doesn't have this limitation so you can test up to 20 (or higher by diluting the sample), in 0.2 increments so you can be quite accurate. The recommendations on levels that you'll find here on TFP differ from what you'll see on the back of bottles/test kits, they take into account the interaction between the CYA and chlorine levels and there's more information here - The Free Chlorine and Cyanuric Acid Relationship

Once you're able to run the tests in the kit you can post the results here and there are plenty of people who can help with what to do next.
