2.69/(128*0.125)= $0.17/oz NaClO...if it is new, then a good price
You've been using this for three years and this is your first post????netuser0 said:Hi all,
This is my 1st post to TFP. Been here a few years and love the experts and knowledge here! I stopped drinking the pool store kool-aid during my first Summer with the pool in 2010 after stumbling onto TFP!
Several have posted about WalMart Great Value bleach in the 121 oz bottle on this thread. However, I have not seen anyone post about what I am seeing as a better value in my Roswell, GA WalMart for the last few weeks. I have notice that the newer, smaller 64oz bottles of GV (now at 8.25% concentration) are selling for $1. That's right... one buck!
If I do my calculations correctly this is $.189/oz NaClO or (1)/(64*0.0825)= $0.1893/ounce Not too shabby!
I usually expect the larger volumes of products to have the better value, but that $1 price made me look twice, and this seems to be one of those times when the smaller item is a better deal.
As a side note, I have been seeing another sub-brand next to the GV called "Top Job" at WalMart but am avoiding it since it has no listing of NaClO concentration.
Aldi in Roswell (my old preference) has crept up to $1.29 per 96oz 6% bottle this year, yielding a still respectable $0.224/oz NaClO

Mark
LOL! What can I say? I guess the guidance you guys give is so perfect and complete that I've been able to read, absorb, and learn up until now!Richard320 said:You've been using this for three years and this is your first post????
I believe it is 12.5%...still not a bad deal at (10.49/4)/(128*0.125)= $164/oz NaClOBethyM said:Got 4 gallons of 15% for $10.49 plus tax.
If my math was right, I get $0.137 -- please double check me
I believe their regular price is $11.99 which still isn't bad.
Edited to add: It says "Available Active: 15% Sodium hypochlorite 12.5%" --- so..... is it 15% or 12.5%???
(25/4)/(128*0.125)= $0.39/oz NaClO for the pool store...yuck (13.25/4)/(128*.125)= $0.207/oz NaClO...much better!sroderus said:I started with the Pool Store. $25 for 4 gallons. We needed more. I was shopping at BJs and found 4 gallons for $13.25. WOWA! No more pool store for me!!
8.50/(128*.125) = $0.53/oz NaClO...thats worst so farrhaas12321 said:$8.50 a gallon for 12.5% at one!
(14/4)/(128*.125)= $0.218/oz NaClO...not bad (I did not include the deposit since you get it back)rhaas12321 said:$14 for 4 +$6 deposit at the other.
2.80/(121*0.825)= $0.28...not greatrhaas12321 said:Nothing but $2.80 for 121 oz. of 8.25% at Walmart, Home Depot or Lowe's.
