Intelliflo3 stand alone automation (sort of)

We have installed a bunch of the IF3 in the exact configuration you’re looking to use. It works great and we haven’t had any issues. Sounds like the perfect setup for your application.

Replacing Hayward Super Pump with WhisperFlow VST

Have you looked at the Intelliflo3? It’s an updated pump design that gives you a lot more options for control of other equipment - usually salt systems and lights. Comes standard with wifi/Bluetooth app control. The Whisperflo is an ancient pump design and the VST controls are a bit of a pain IMO.

    Replace colorlogic transformer

What control system do you have? The Hayward smart transformer for the Omni system is a good option, because it frees up relays in your panel for future use.

SunBlazer SB125 132k BTU Pool Heater VS Gulfstream HE125-R-A 125k BTU

Can’t speak to the Gulfstream, but I’m a big fan of the Sunblazer. They are made by Aquacal and it is basically the T135 heater in a different color cabinet. You get the factory support that comes along with any Aquacal heater, they have super simple controls and also have the Thermolink heat...

    hayward color logic lights

Yes. Hayward UCL lights have Colorlogic 4.0 mode, so once you get them into that mode, they will take the same commands.

    Pool light

There is a ground lug in the transformer. “Chrome” looking terminal bar that is basically in the dead middle of rhe transformer.

    Old Light Housing

This is an original Amerlite. This particular design has been discontinued for 20 years or more. The screw that holds the light in the pool should be in the portion of the light right that is cut off by the pictures. Once you remove this screw, the light should drop out of the wall for service...

Heater out of warranty by 2 months and no longer working

Intake requirements, exhaust requirements, and service clearances all seem non existent in these pictures.

    Help!

Did you possibly make a connection between the line voltage for the lights and the relay leads? That would definitely cause you some issues. Does the back of the main board have any burn marks?

PB says our new pool plaster needs to be chipped out and replaced

It will definitely be more than a couple days, but shouldn't have too much effect on your yard. Have them install a proper main drain sump if they're going through that much effort.

OmniPL Setup with Pentair Intellibrite 5G Color Lights

The Omni platform gives the most control and flexibility of any of the big 3 automation systems. The difference is that there is no pre-programmed logic in the Omni and you are the one that tells it what to do. Getting them right can take a bit if you don't have someone on site who is familiar...

Afraid to ask - Pentair FNS 48 with possibly wrong valve?

Well I just posted a picture that proved me wrong and said I was eating crow. Nothing left for me to get.

Afraid to ask - Pentair FNS 48 with possibly wrong valve?

Crow never tasted so good. Side by side comparison for anyone else who is curious. DE on the left, sand on the right.

Both valves sitting on my desk. Check replacement parts schematic.

Afraid to ask - Pentair FNS 48 with possibly wrong valve?

The 261152 valve that you posted is literally the exact same as the 261152 sand valve. The difference is the sticker and the valve handle orientation. They are 180 degrees different from each other. Bronsonj, can you post a picture of what is currently at the house?

Afraid to ask - Pentair FNS 48 with possibly wrong valve?

You don't need a new valve. Those MPV will work for either sand or DE, but the key is rotated 180 degrees depending on the filter you have. All you need is the sticker for DE. See the item posted below...

The AquaStar moflo 8" retrofit covers fit those frames nicely and they are pretty inexpensive.

Sta-Rite Sunbrite Bulb Burns Out 2-3 Times A Season With Limited Use

Hi temp union reliability? Any experience with these?

We order these by the case and use them on basically everything that does not have a built in union. Have been using them for 5-6 years in North Florida and I have never had to go out and swap an o-ring.

Intellipro VS-3050 motor gone after 3 years ?

Looks like the shaft seal failed, letting water past the housing and back to the motor. I'd say the most common culprit of a failed shaft seal is running the pump dry. It can also happen if lots of sand or abrasive debris is vacuumed through the skimmer. Along with replacing the motor, you...

SWG systems that will work at lower flow rates

The Hayward Swimpure/Aqua Rite systems work well in lower flow situations. Lowest of all the major systems if I'm not mistaken. You still may have issues at 1230 RPM though. Bumping it up a few hundred RPM for 8 hours a days or so to get the salt system going probably isn't going to put a big...

Aqua logic Clock problems --anyone ever figure out anything

Unfortunately the board needs to be replaced. There is no backup battery on the Hayward systems, so mythical is a good description.

    IntelliChlor IC60 Keeps Blowing Fuse

IC60 is not big in my area, but we manage three pools that we have installed IC60 on using standard power center/fuse setup with no issues. Your cell probably has an issue. I would call Pentair before installing a 12 amp fuse. 10 amp is what comes in the power center and what they sell as a...

Pentair Easy Touch and Pentair Ultra Temp Heat Pump

My bad! I double checked that manual and I see that now. I always use the relay control because I'm normally wring into an older automation. I'd either swap to relay control or call Pentair.

Pentair Easy Touch and Pentair Ultra Temp Heat Pump

It is wired incorrectly. RS-485 requires a 4 wire connection to the com ports. You can utilize the existing 2 wire setup as follows... - TURN OFF ALL BREAKERS - In easytouch, swap wires to low voltage heater relay (bottom right of board when you flip it down) - In ultratemp, swap wires to the...
