What does your pool paradise look like?

Tell me about the app. What r u using to have the app communicate with the lights and audio. The audio over ip? Or ir woth a converter to ip? What about the lights. Rxthey smart lights or isxthe transformer plugged into a smart outlet which is zwave or zigbee? Thier website is kinda vague. I’m always looking for other viable solutions.

Here's how it is set up:

The pool and spa lights were originally connected to standard single pole switches in the waterproof electrical box on the equipment pad. I replaced these with two WiFi accessible, Alexa & Google compatible smart switches (note: they require a common wire to work).

My three landscape light transformers are each plugged into individual WiFi accessible GoSund smart outlets. These outlets are all patched into a power strip I placed in a waterproof box. The power strip is plugged into one of my outside GFCI outlets. All of the transformers are set to a permanent "on" setting, so they will trip on and off whenever the outlet is triggered at the app.

My audio receiver and the Bluetooth system is plugged into another GoSund smart outlet in the kitchen, hidden away from view and plugged into the same outlet as the refrigerator. (I'll try to get a few pics of this tomorrow).

I'm using the Smartlife app for iPhone to run the entire thing. Documentation is not the best, but once you get the hang of it, you can program various zones, have it turn on automatically at sunset, etc. etc. (it pulls weather and time from the phone). You just need to first sync the outlets or switches to your WiFi network and use the "install new device" option on the app.

It's SO much easier now than it was when I was simply using the transformer timers - constantly having to reset the times and never having them turn on and off at the right times as the days got shorter was a pain. One of my programs is an automatic "all systems off" setting that will shut down the entire system at 11:30pm so I don't need to worry about accidentally leaving anything on overnight.

Here's a screen grab (bottom left) showing the dashboard view on the app. The six buttons across the top are for one-click programs. You also have the ability to solo individual outlets or switches as shown to the right.

Oh ok that is what I figured. My whole home is zwave for lights (Leviton). I control over Vera but also have hai which controls my hating and is suppose to control my security and some other stuff but didn’t switch it over from Vera yet. I figured that’s what u were doing. So the audio is just on and off. No volume control or discrete control over the settings and control on the receiver. That’s what I was trying to figure out from the app website.

Nice setup and how you did it!

I actually use my iPhone for control over the audio system. The system is just "on and off" using the app as you mentioned, but I have the receiver's gain knob already set to a comfortable high headroom level that fills the entire outdoor space. From there, I can stream iTunes playlists, or Spotify, CNN News, or whatever other sources I want to use from my phone via Bluetooth. Which means I can control overall master volume levels for the system right off the phone since the receiver is already gain staged for set it and forget it.

I suppose additional control over the receiver might be useful in some applications, but I haven't run into it yet (I am a musician and have used large complex systems for years, and wanted to make the outdoor setup as user friendly as possible).

During Thanksgiving one of my wife's friends had a playlist on his phone that he wanted to play...it was simply a matter of sync'ing his phone to the bluetooth receiver and he was good to DJ. Took ten seconds.

Oh these are all beautiful! We managed to at least clean up our install "war-zone" by the end of the summer, but we didn't do anything beyond drainage improvements and sprinkler system repairs before the snow hit. I'm looking forward to a full overhaul of our backyard space this spring - plants, pavers, lighting, a deck addition, pool storage, etc, and everyone is providing such great inspiration - thank you!

Our AGP is is extra deep, but we didn't sink the walls at all. If anyone has more pics of a landscaped fully above ground AGP I love to see them.

Seeing all these gorgeous pools and equipment sheds. It's like seeing someone's new car. Now I feel like I need to go out and get a new one. $$$$$$ Ugh. The concepts and accessories are endless. Fun to watch though. This is becoming one of my favorite threads.

Really enjoyed seeing all these super nice pools and how everyone sets up their paradise. Lonny that sounds like a great sound system setup!
Don you have enough going on with finishing up your own pool build. Don’t get anymore ideas then you already have going on over there!! :laughblue:
Now, don’t you have some finishing up things you should be attending too?

A rare glimpse of the super duper top secret mermaid club. The mermaid on the left is mine, her 2 BFF's might as well be. What it's all about.

View from my bed.

Awesome waterslide/waterfall/grotto combo! Who did that? Is it RicoRock? Starting a pool with a similar setup with RicoRock soon and am super nervous as to how it is going to turn out.

Here’s mine. Built last year.
