New Build Wylie, TX

I am wondering why you can't start filling your pool after you acid wash it. Our pb acid washed our pool immediately after the plaster was put on and smoothed out and then he started putting water in the pool a couple of hours later. As I recall the pool was plastered in the morning following the acid wash to expose pebbles and take the cream off and then we started filling the pool in the evening. I wonder if our pb did not follow the correct install of the plaster however it is 8 plus years and we have not have any problems:cheers:

I think I worded that oddly. Yes they will fill right after they acid wash which he said would be done about 5 hours after the plaster was done. The only waiting period is we can not get in the pool for 3 days after plaster. I actually thought this was a little odd because I have seen a bunch of pics on build threads here with kids in the pool while it is being filled but maybe they just like to live on the edge :p

Guys showed up at 6:30am! Not playing around.

Yes they want to get the plaster down early in the morning so to give time for it to dry before acid washing and they want to do that all in one day:cheers:

WOW that was FAST! I can't wait to see it with water in it! Make sure to wrap a towel or something on the end of the hose to keep the metal from touching the plaster. If you wrap it over the end it might even filter out some yuckies!

its crazy how fast things have moved in the last week or two. It feels like just yesterday that your yard was in shambles.... now you have water!!!

I know I am amazed as well! There has been a lot of over promising and under delivering through the build so it seems my PB did just the opposite on the final stages. The pool is full I will post some pics tonight! We worried a lot about the plaster color but absolutely love it. Exactly what we wanted. I broke the rules and got in it for a little bit last night the water temp was awesome! Start up is tomorrow along with their pool school. Yesterday I finished the landscaping adding a stacked flagstone border (I repurposed the left over flagstone) to each side and put down 30 bags of mulch. It turned out looking nice.

Congrats Mcow, looks great! I assume you have spent the stalled time reading TFP pool school (yes - the rain has been unbelievable this year). Your PB pool school is a great time to get ask questions any get any clarifications.

Sure have. I am going to see what kind of test kit the PB provides but planning on buying the FAS/DPD test at a minimum. The deal with the pool was my wife was going to do the maintenance (you know the great divide of labor and all) so she is reading up as well. It will probably be a joint effort though!
