New Build Wylie, TX

Well they didn't end up showing up after all. I think my PB may be a little over committed right now and they seem to have lost their scheduler who was good about sending us updates pretty regularly.

Kim I know! I was like seriously you thought that was a good idea! It still hasn't dried completely so they have not poured the footer yet which they cannot do the decking on that part until they do and that particular crew seems to be MIA now.

Hi there,

We both are in the same boat...it started great but now going too slow. When did they start your build? we started on 13th June and our patio is ready to be poured any day. Btw your tile n plaster choices look great. Not sure if they told you that, with majestic isle you won't be able to see the bottom of the pool. if it doesn't matter to you then no issues.

We started June 8th. Same thing everything was moving along pretty fast and now it's moving at a snails pace. The frustrating thing is it's just down to the finishing items!

Yeah that's good to know about not seeing the bottom but I'm not too concerned our pool is only 5' deep.

Ok everyone time for a laugh at my expense. So I went to bed last night with the excitement of the knowledge after almost three weeks of nothing much done the crew would be out to start the paver decking. I woke up and as usual did a quick walk around to observe my kingdom. I looked in the back yard to see it completely flooded. I scratched my head for a second since there was no rain how could this happen(hadn't had any coffee yet)? Immediately I assumed somehow an irrigation pipe I capped got broken somehow. That didn't make any sense though because the water to the irrigation has been shut off at the street since the beginning. Speaking of irrigation! It dawned on me what happened... I left the garden hose I was using to water the tiny patch of grass I have left in my backyard on all night.. Yep I flooded my own yard. I almost wanted to cry.. Had to call the PB and tell them not to send anyone out. No telling when we will be able to get back on the schedule now.

Yes, but that little patch of grass is looking happy!

:brickwall:Yea been there, done that! NOT fun but at least you figured it out. What I do now when I have the hose running to add water to the pool is set a timer and put it in the room I am in. No more overflowing the pool

It was completely just a boneheaded move. The problem is we are so impatient with the pool being finished we shut all the blinds on the back of the house so we don't have to look at it! Normally we would have seen it.

Thankfully (in this case at least) it is a blistering 100 degrees on North Texas and the yard is almost dried up!

Well my yard flooding was not too detrimental to the schedule they were able to pour the footers for the pergola last night and I am being told decking will start next week and hopefully be finished by Wednesday/Thursday. Apparently plaster is a week out from that so hopefully we will be swimming by the 5th. That is of course assuming everything goes as planned. Apparently sod is in shortage in our area so it may be a while after that before it is completely finished. I don't really care I just want to be in the water during these 100 degree days!

Yeah don't worry about the yard. Believe me when I say that your work will just be beginning after you get your pool filled. All the hunny do lists will start:cheers:

Well clearly we did something to anger the pool building gods. Decking was supposed to start today but last night RAIN!!! Completely flooded the backyard again and it is fairly cloudy so will probably take until Wednesday to dry out again. I checked and it looks like tile and coping was complete on the 23rd of June so it has basically been a month with the only progress being the footers for the pergola getting poured. Sigh...

Our rain amount has been unreal! Instead of waiting to give us a little shower in the afternoon it is now raining TWICE most days! Once around 10:00 am or so and again around 5-6 pm! I am SO tired of mowing!!!!!

Ugh I shouldn't have used photobucket before! I replaced the original links but too much of a pain to do all of them. Not that important anyway.

So... PROGRESS FINALLY! After almost a month of nothing being done we have a step almost completed. Pergola should be finished up today. I am being told the guys will also be out to start the paver decking of course I have heard that song before so not holding my breath.

looks awesome! Glad they're getting things done. As for photobucket, there are so many broken forums out there now that its like a constant reminder for people not to use them. It's almost like they put up a "don't use us" advertisment in millions of places across the internet.

It is stupid. I mean do they really think someone will pay $400/year.. I am using vgy.me - Simple Image Hosting

More progress!! Deck drains in and paver base down. We can now stop worrying about rain flooding the backyard and slowing things down.
