Full pool. Water looks a little greenish today. Not sure if it's just because it's a little overcast or what.

Don't judge but we have a doggie door in the fence between me and my neighbors yard so the backyards are doggie communal. This was the first time in two months the dog next door has been in our yard and it's been driving her crazy. She seems to like the tanning ledge.

Green is normal our pool was green and very cloudy for a few days when we put water in the pool. Ask your pb questions:cheers:

Forget about judging...............I am loving it! I am guessing the dogs get along!

Yeah the green in the beginning is normal. The plaster will start to show it's true color once the water is balanced and the plaster cures. Brushing will help as well.

That all looks awesome! Love the landscaping!

Love the doggie door idea!! We have four rescue dogs, 2 that are 100 pounds, and 2 that are 50-60 pounds. Sadly we don’t have any neighbors that would do a communal dog door, but what an awesome idea!!

And I spied your goat in the landscaping too [emoji12]. It looks perfect there!

Haha yes the goat found its spot!

The doggie door started when we lost pickets between our dilapidated fence our dogs would go in between the yards. My neighbor and I replaced the fence and the dogs were sad they couldn't visit each other. Clearly the only option was to install a doggie door.

Green is normal for the first few days as others have said.

Please ensure the dogs know how to get out of the pool should they fall in.

Yes we are working on that. Our dog will not go in. I took her in the other day brought her to the tanning ledge and let her get out on her own. One of the neighbors dogs clearly does but she is only going in and staying on the tanning ledge. We are concerned about this too so supervising them when they are in the backyard.

Thanks everyone! We are happy with how everything turned out. Since start up yesterday water is looking better. I will post some pics later (once we have sun geesh I feel like I live in England). Yesterday I put up some new LED string lights on the pergola and existing patio they look great and light up the entire area. I will take some pics of that tonight. Last night was the first time we were able to get the pool lights going with water in the pool. Little regret here wish I would have added a third light. The one "corner" with the bench stays pretty dark unless the lights are set to white.

"Pool School" made me nervous! I have a little checklist from the PB on what to do the first month but does not really explain how to do anything. I guess that is what YouTube is for. I clearly need to order a TFTestkit what the PB gave us was very basic just Chlorine and PH test. I was told to wait two days then bring a water sample to be tested at a pool supply store before adding any chemicals (they did add some muriatic acid yesterday). All seems a little intimidating but I am sure it is like everything else just takes some practice.

I highly recommended you get a test kit on order ASAP (Pool School - Test Kits Compared). The TF-100 is the most popular choice. Spend a little light reading in Pool School, start a thread in Testing and Balancing your Water forum (Testing and Balancing Your Water). There are many many experienced people that can help guide you on the startup and are very willing to help newbie testers. For sure they will tell you to stay away from the Pool Store for water analysis. I would recommend not using U-tube but instead leverage the great people and processes on TFP.

I am also right around the corner and would be willing to come over and help get you rolling on caring for your own pool. The peace and freedom that comes with managing your own pool is powerful.

Thanks Brentr and Kim!

I was planning on adding some LED floods but the LED string lights actually illuminate the entire deck with a really nice warm light so may be all that's needed.

Got in the pool last night and again wish I would have added a 3rd light. My wife says it's ok that's the "make out" area.

Took some more pics this morning. Looking more blue. Hopefully this weekend I'll be able to see the pool in full sunlight! I should have taken a day off this week from work all I want to do is sit and stare at the pool.

Took this the other day from on top of the pergola when I was doing the lights.

Yeah, it's cute when your wife says it. But how old are your kids? They might like that make out area too before you know it!!! So thoughtful of you to have that for them.

Those are probably the same/similar LED string lights we have. They are awesome!
