Pentair MPV Gasket Replacement - Glue?

I’m going to replace my mpv gasket this spring for my DE filter. It seems like the videos are mixed on if you should use glue to glue down the gasket or if you should use Permatex. What does TFP say?

Sorry to hear about your wife :( I have a tiny idea what she must be going through...
Good to know your finding the dichlor/bleach method and aquaclarity works.. are you doing ahhsome purge (gel?) then weekly aquaclarity? How often do you change the water/purge?

However, from what I have seen, it is not so much that BAC can cause antibiotic resistance in bacteria, but that there is a cross linkage between SANTIZIERS IN GENERAL and antibiotic resistance.

I guess the answer is, if you are trying to kill bacteria, then make sure you kill it all. Don't use a low level of sanitizer that leaves some hanging around with a chance to mutate into something stronger. Kill it dead the first time.

thanks for your reply! Noted on sanitzer, I am doing my best, but without SWG it's hard to keep up. (think travel, hurricanes, torrential rain, sickness etc). Might have to consider Bromine but that just seems like more stuff & $ and still have to add chlorine weekly.

The relay coil will be powered when the actuator is moving the return valve to Pool Position.

Just measure if the voltage is Black and Red or Black and White when the Pool Return is open.

You can power the Relay Line In from the Pool Pump Relay Load out terminals to make sure that the Pump is on when the acid dosing is on.

When the return valve actuator is sending water to the Pool, the Relay will be powered.

The relay is the same as the other relays except it is 24 VAC instead of 24 VDC.

So for the actuator that controls the flow from pool/spa on the pressure side, would I splice in the relay to that same connection?

I'm thinking I could connect a relay to AUX 7 which I have the skimmer JVA assigned to it. When the skimmer is open, the AUX could be powered and then power the PH doser. Since the skimmer is open the major of the day (except when the cleaner is running) it would give it enough time to run. I would just have to make sure to turn the skimmer off when using the spa to shut down the doser. Not sure if I could automate that?

Thanks for the reply and I'll check the schedule in the morning. I fooled around with the schedule and set it up for flow rates since the heat pump is running and I'm trying to keep it at 93 degrees F. (until I get my first electric bill 🤭)

I was able to get the Paramount PV3 Floor Cleaning system up and running. (8 pop-ups and a water valve module.) Now I'm seeing lots of debris in the water. Seems like white scale and sand.

I'll be shopping for chemicals tomorrow.
