Jandy heater - error message "check aux monitor"

Hi everyone.
I too have a 1 yr old jandy heater with a "fault check aux monitor" error. I can't get service until the end of the month and have a handy husband....so...
how do you get at the board that is mentioned in the above reply. Should I just wait out a third of the swim season here in Ohio to get covered service?

If it's still under warranty, I wouldn't mess with it.

Hi,
I'm the one with the handy husband. Well after I tried looking for a YouTube answer and tried reading the owners manual, he looked somewhere online and found a quick fix.
He pushed and held the middle button on the control panel, then also pushed the pool & spa buttons holding all 3 for 5 seconds. At which point the panel read "reset? Yes or no" he hit yes and it fired up and is currently putting out warm water! Hurray! We are going to wait until tomorrow or so to make sure it continues to work before we cancel our service appointment but so far so good. Hope this helps someone else.

My one year old Jandy heater is giving the error message: Check aux monitor. Is this something I can fix or do I need to call for a trained technician?

Here is the solution...
Check these connections making sure there is no corrosion and the screw downs are tight. You can see mine looked loose.

Clear the code...
Make sure heater is off
Hold menu + pool + spa until you see the display change and ask "clear latch code errors" or similar. Hit menu to say ok.

Fire it up!

Hi,

I had the same issue on my Jandy jxi 200N (without versaflow). Clearing the code and restarting the heater did not resolve the issue. So, I disconnect the power interface board and it turned out the auxiliary sensor's opto-coupler (or opto-isolator) had gone bad. The part costs 50cent from Digi-Key and I bought 10 of them and with the shipping I only paid $13. Once I soldered the new part heater started working again with no issues. This turned out to be a much cheaper repair than paying $700USD for a new board.

The part that I swapped is labeled U6 on the PCBA, and the part number is LTV-354T. Here is the link to the Digi-Key:

Hope this can help someone else.

Cheers,
Ben
