    Anyone have thoughts on my filter clamp corroding? I replaced the original clamp which appeared more durable with this one hoping it will last a very long time. The clamp is only 7years old. Thanks for all your inputs. :cheers:

    Thanks for the info, perhaps I will use that next time I break down the filter however it may be 3 years before I do so. The last time I cleaned my filter was 3 years ago. Thanks to TFP and a birdcage :cheers:

    Hey JIM I am not sure what seal you are referring to. The seal I am using I still put lube on. It is a fairly thick seal. I also have a new seal with a metal strip in it. Perhaps you are referring to this one.

    Yes very happy I went with DE. It is very oversized for my pool but that just means that I spend more time swimming instead of cleaning filters. If you are getting a good deal on the Hayward I would switch it out and sell the sand filter which is what I did. Hope this helps:cheers:

    Nextoblivion, I did the same thing 5 years ago. I also had a S220t. I replaced the grids and was up and running. You will notice a decrease in PSI and you may notice not very many particles floating in the pool at night with the pool light on. Hope this helps:cheers:

    It appears to me that you have a corrosion issue. That lug on the side in the first pic is for a bonding wire. Did you have one connected to it? If not that is your problem. Hopefully others with experience will chime in. Hope this helps:cheers:

    Welcome to TFP:wave: Pop and smoke does not sound good. I have this same timer and I do not recall seeing a transformer in it. I think you should replace it with a new one. Hopefully others will chime in with different suggestions. Hope this helps:cheers:

    Polaris gets stuck nose down

    Is it possible that you do not have enough water flow to the polaris? Sometimes I have to increase flow to the polaris to get it properly running. Hope this helps:cheers:
