I've been checking the FC the last couple days while the SWCG was set to about 20% and it looks like I need to lower the percentage.
I also have been slowly upping the CYA, last I checked it was almost at 60ppm. I put in some old dichlor I had sitting around which should raise the CYA by about 8.6ppm. I also put 4 tablets (I think that's 2 lbs) of trichlor in the pool which should up the CYA by 6.3. Dichlor and Trichlor additions should bring me to between 70 and 80ppm of CYA. Gotta say it's nice to get rid of this di/trichlor that I haven't used in ages.
Since my FC is at 10.5ppm and I just put in about 9.5ppm I turned off the SWCG so the FC can drop. I figure I'll check it in about 2-3 days; once the FC is around 6ppm, I'll turn the SWCG back on and try to get the percentage adjusted properly.
I have a VS pump I'm now running for 21 hours a day. It doesn't run between 3-6PM because electricity is more expensive during those hours. It runs for 2 hours at 2500rpm so the vacuum can run. The rest of the time it's at 1100rpm so the SWCG can produce FC. I'm trying to keep the VS pump running longer, while keeping the SWCG percentage low because my understanding is that makes the salt cell last longer.
2 questions:
1. Any issues with plan with the FC and CYA?
2. How does my pump run time plan look?
3. Does 1100rpm to activate the SWCG flow switch seem right?
Thanks TFP!
