Aqualink down?

The same thing happened a few days ago, it was their servers. This is a joke

Aftermarket Salt Cells

You are in luck - I actually ordered one last year (previously using T15 on my AquaRite system) and it worked like a charm all last season. We unfortunately had an issue with the threads being brittle this spring when i went to install and did only hand tightened. Whatever the reason for the threads issue, the cell worked perfectly last year AND Poolguysupply replaced it under warranty %100. BTW they are $399 there with free shipping vs Discountsaltpool around $50 more and back ordered on a wait list.

New Intelitouch i10 3d setup

You might be able to make things workout with the rights settings if you only intend to heat your spa. The Duel equipment model you have has separate connections for a pool heater and separate spa heater, and is also expecting two separate water temperature sensors - one for pool and one for spa. Maybe you can sell it and purchase the right board without losing to badly $...

New pool finished, but having issues with spa spillover.

First thing you need to do is get the spillover correctly sized and shaped.

As I suggested earlier I would get rid of that corner bump and return to a smooth V corner spillover. Then experiment with blocks of different sizes to shorten the sides of the spillover until you get a water flow that does not splash out of the pool at any pump speed. Once you know the size the structure can be adjusted.

Surface tension can cause the water to wrap around the ledge and back to the tile. The fix is to put a notch sawcut/groove under the edge of the ledge to break the surface tension and have the water fall away. The notch should be 1/4" deep about 1/4" back from edge.

Second, you should enable SPILLOVER mode on dipswitch 3, schedule your spillover to run, and not run it continuously.

Third, once you get your spillover sized correctly and fixed you can adjust your pump speeds. Your speeds look much too fast. If you need to run that fast you may have problems with your plumbing or filter.

Skimmer and Drain, Vacuum port, Pool vacuum

Jeff,

Your pump only has two inputs... Vac Line and your Skimmer (and maybe your Main drain..)

Based upon your plumbing, your main drain is plumbed into the bottom of your skimmer.

This mean that unless you have a floating diverter valve under your skimmer basket, then you effectively have no main drain suction. And even if you do have a floating diverter valve, it most likely is not working, as most do not, or they are very intermittent. Show us a pic of your skimmer, looking down, with the basket removed..

The good news is that you do not need a main drain at all...

The only way to have your Vac and your skimmer both work well, at the same time, is to increase your pump speed..

Your circulation issue has a lot to do with having no eyeballs on your returns.. Water will take the path of least resistance every time.. It is much easier to go out the closest hole, then to go all the way to the farthest hole..

The fix is to install eyeballs.. Make the first eyeball the smallest, the middle eyeball a little bigger, and the last eyeball the biggest.. This will even out the flow at all three returns.

Thanks,

Jim R.

VS / VFD Pump & Flickering LED lights

AC,

I removed the last sentence in your post, as that is not how our site works... Everything else you said is perfectly fine.

That said, until recently I had three pools that all had Pentair VS pumps.. The three different houses all had plenty of LED lights, cheap and other wise.. None of the houses had any flickering at all..

This complaint is not one that I have seen here before, so it must not be very common..

Not sure if you just got a bad pump, or your electrical gird is different in some way, or???

In any case, let's see if any of our members have seen this same issue.

Thanks,

Jim R.
Thanks Jim. Sorry about that, and edit accepted and justified.

So this issue relates to VFD, and the level of harmonic distortion that VFDs produce that feeds back to supply side. Depends on the quality of the VFD circuits I am told. But I have also reached out to Pentair in case it is faulty VFD filter on my particular unit and not related to this unit in particular (I own it, so not going to denigrate it too much).

Be keen to hear from anyone else who might have similar experience.

Drain and refill for plaster pool

Why are you draining?

What model filter pump do you have?

Post pictures of your equipment pad.

Copper. Pentair cartridge filter.

Pool tech doesn’t agree with SLAM

I can’t get it to stay at a decent number. I did an overnight test a few days ago and it went down 3 ppm overnight. I have had suspicions that I had algae but wasn’t 100% sure.
Your chlorine will keep on being consumed until you kill the algae and have an algae free pool.

Then you will lose normal 3-4 ppm per day from the sun UV consumption.
