Not sure I can easily label a picture. I tried to identify above.
Check Valve 1 on the bottom left is flow meter.
Check Valve 2 is on inlet to 3-way valve.
Check Valve 3 is the black blob on the solar return.

Check valve 1 is on the inlet to the filter. Check valve 2 is on the outlet of the filter, and up to solar control valve.

I don't think it buys you anything to change things.

You can open up Valve 2 and remove the flapper if you want.

What about the black blob? Is it an efficient check valve. If needed, what about moving Valve 2, and replace Valve 3 with Valve 2? Thanks

The black blob pipe goes into the ground. I have no idea where it goes or how your solar system is set up.

Solar pipes usually go up to the roof, not into the ground. I will not make assumptions about your system without understanding the complete picture.

Good point. The solar goes down in the ground on the left when the solar valve is 180 degrees different. (As shown the valve is bypassing solar.). But when set to solar, flow is to the left, down in the ground, over to the letf pipe on the house, throught solar panels, back down other pipe on house, and underground up the pipe with black blob check valve.
