Unwinterized and uncovered

Is recirculate a sufficient setting for when i am not at the house to monitor filter pressure?
Yes. When you can, filter out the solids. Sand filters are pretty forgiving, and can take the longest to clear a pool during a SLAM.

Doing the next set of testing. What is CYA if the tube is full and i can still see the dot?
Below 30 - too low. You might try adding stabilizer in 10 - 15 ppm increments to gently get it to around 30 without going too high.

That could explain why the amount of chlorine i added, only got me to an FC of 3.

Here are the test results:

CYA- <30
FC-3
CC-0
TA-140
CH- DNT
pH-7.2

Dry stabilizer at 1lb 2 oz and 1 gallon 12.5% chlorine added per Pool Math app.

That should help the stabilizer get closer to 30. Now going back to how this thread started, it was for algae. You still need to complete the SLAM Process. You actually need to increase the FC level 12 and do your best to maintain it there.

This weekend, ill be doing hopefully the last bit of debris removal with as little water removal as possible.

How often can i test and adjust chlorine levels?

Ill follow the app and continue working towards SLAM FC levels based of the CYA level.

As much as needed and as for as long as you are on-site. The beginning of a SLAM we tend to see the FC fall a bit quicker which requires additional chlorine a bit more frequently until the chlorine takes over and starts to hold. Once you're there doing it you should see a pattern.

Keep in mind dry stabilizer can take a couple of days to show up, depending on how you are adding. What method are you using to add the stabilizer?

I am putting in a skimmer sock and leaving it in the basket. It is gone by the time i come back to check the pool. Ill be at the pool mpre often over the weekend.

This was my CYA test today. This is filled to the 30 mark on the viewing tube. I did not add anymore today. This is in the garage with garage door and back door open, and no direct light. I don't feel like the camera lightened up the picture at all either.

Todays test reaults were
FC: 7
CC : 1
CYA: <30 or 30

Update time. Time was tight yesterday and today due ti family gathering and a pregnancy appointment.

See log for yesterday's test results but today FC: 8, CC:0.5. Added chlorine via PM App.20210607_144210.jpg20210607_144225.jpg

Have been having consistently low CC. I suspect no active algae is in the pool but lack of filter time is the slow down with pool clarity.

Hang in there! You'll eventually get to where all those steps and bottom are crystal clear.
I will, but have to be honest that its been frustrating to say the least.

I added the last of the dry Stabilizer yesterday, and will use liquid going forward to be able to see CYA levels change in testing sooner.

Had some visitors at the pool this morning. 20210608_055150.jpg

FC: 8.5
CC: 0.5

Filter ran all night with no issues and no return pressure drop. Filter pressure was 16 on arrival and was 13 when i left at 6pm yesterday. Hopefully woll start seeing water clear up soon. CYA testing due after work. I have a feeling its still low. Low CC but FC dropping stopping randomly. Yesterday was quite warm and sunny with high UV index.
