Testing kits question - new pool fill

With your dark plaster as a background, anything that floats on your water will show up.

It can be used. Plan to clean the tile line, skimmer, and filter more often when it is used. Best to apply it, wait 30 minutes or so, then swim. It will not just be washed right off.

You know what I think you are spot on with the sunscreen.

I did an N=1 and sprayed a little tiny amount of the sunscreen she uses in the corner of pool. Looks VERY similar to the stuff I am seeing.

I guess she didn't let it dry first and the kids jumped right in. 🤔

I would think they can swim. Amazing how little you need of that to cause a sheen.

Lol I was just thinking the same! I know she hoses them down with it, I am going to show her the photos and the sheen on water...say to tone down the sunscreen spray. 😄

Well shoot....how do I get rid of the stuff on surface. Or maybe the kids will take care of it while jumping in/out splashing around. 😀

You might want to invest in Scum Bugs. They go in the skimmer to remove oils, etc.

It will eventually stick to the tile line, the skimmer, the tennis balls, or the filter cartridge.

I have 2 tennis balls in each skimmer at all times. They work amazing.

Also, back when I had to slather my fair skinned kids with sunblock, the trick was to make them wait until the sunblock dried. It took 15 miserable minutes that felt like 200, but it helped alot. They'd be pleading their case that they were dry 5 mins in, and I'd point out all the places they were still shiny. :ROFLMAO:

Liquide CYA=the good stuff is in the bottom of the bottle. Shake the bottle up good AND add water to the bottle after you think it is all gone and shake in up good. I would do that couple/few times to make sure all the gunk goes into the pool. Make sure the kids are swimming to help you mix it up LOL

Kid fun day idea! When you go to add salt to the pool call it "diamond day". Have the kids in the pool then throw the salt in. Have them watch it under the water while it floats down. It looks like diamonds! They also help mix it in while playing with it!

Also order a "watermelon ball" The best pool game/toy out there!

Yes! I tried that earlier, 5 minutes passed and they are in pool! Like come on people!!

I have always gone all season with mine. I had 25 swimmers at a blowout party a few weeks ago, for hours, and I would have thought they'd be dripping oil after, but they were just wet, and no oils in the pool.

Wow woke up this AM and checked out the tennis ball. The sides that meet water line are covered in slime...looks like it picked up the sunscreen etc!

What a Dang cool trick/tip, thanks folks! Gotta run to store later to buy some, told my wife about this and first thing she says is DO NOT USE MY TENNIS BALLS. 🤣

While running various errands pre season, I found them for $2(?) a pack at Walmart. They seemed less fuzzy than I remembered, but they've done the trick just the same.

I'm debating on telling PB I want to take over chemicals now. His start up Chem guy doesn't seem to be doing anything.

I've been reading the Pebble tech start up guide and basically he isn't following it at all. CH, CYA, PH no where near Pebble techs PDF chart.

I'm not sure how to approach him about it tho. 🤔

PH I measured somewhere around 8.0. Pebble start up guide says 7.0-7.4. Using the pool math app it says I need to add half a gallon (64 floz) to get back into this range.

Seems like a lot of acid 🤔
