That’s hilarious!
Those things have become part of our pool . When they are not moving around and zooming around past our back windows, almost life like with a little wind and pool circulation, I’m looking for them to see why they have been sat out. One of our exchange students got me those and I wasn’t sure how they would do but with a sunny day to solar charge them, they will glow all night long. My wife thinks it’s hilarious that I named them.
If anyone comes to abduct Lefty Loosey and Righty Tighty , they are in for a fight! :brickwall:

Good early am to everyone! :coffee:

Ok, so my next photo to post which I have not taken yet, will be of our newly transformed TFP pool. I’m just gonna say, unless something changes between now and daylight (next photo), I am in AWE at the looks of this water even before I can clearly see it at sunrise. It is not perfect I’m sure, as I will still have some cleaning of small remnants on the bottom of pool. I did brush it Real early this am just to keep filtering the smallest of particles and I can tell the way my new pool light is penetrating the water compared to just prior this TRANSFORMATION that it will look amazing!!!

I do have numbers that were taken throughout the night that I will also post coming up later. Off for another water sample :sneaky:

what is neat is how diligent you have been! And to think it looks better NOW than before you started.....................tells you how out of shape the mess had it!
Thank you,
I agree, that’s exactly what I was thinking about the sad shape it was in even as blue and clean as I thought it was. I still have lots of cleaning, brushing, and vacuuming to do but it’s only been a couple of days and I can already get a slight peek of the end result at the moment!
Thanks for the support!

27 Gal of Chlorine to this point but today with the Sun out, I’ve been pouring it to it!! Today’s total ALOT. At $4.60 / gal. and 3 gal / hour during peak, it’s cheaper than hiring help at minimum wage!
Shoo-ooooot. Baqua would have cost more than that in good times. Converting is a bargain. And its only going to get better. :ROFLMAO:

You’re using a lot of chlorine because you have no stabilizer in the water which you don’t want right now. But when you do add stabilizer the chlorine will last a lot longer

It almost looks like you’re at the point you may actually want to slow down. Most of your chlorine is getting consumed by the sun as @JoyfulNoise mentioned. At this point it maybe in your interest to go ahead and dose early in the morning but hold off on adding chlorine when the sun is out in full force. Then once the sun starts to set again hit it hard once again as you’ll save some cash big time.

I have had about 4 hours of hard consumption but the water continued to clear by visual so I kept the pace! I never knew what clear was!

At this point it’s always a call the user needs to make. There is no wrong answer here and it’s a decision we cannot make for you. Continuing to dose during the day will help clear the water up quicker and you’ll be swimming before you know it, BUT a fair amount of your chlorine is going to be consumed by the sun. On the flip side, dosing only during the night is going to make the conversion longer as you’re not hitting things as hard, BUT you’re going to save some cash because you’re going to have nearly the amount of chlorine consumed by the sun.

A pool cover during the day would help to conserve chlorine loss from the sun but that is typically a pain for most people to deploy easily or consistently. As @Leebo said, it’s your call.

I feel like today was certainly worth adding and maintaining because the water continued to improve all day so now I believe the thing to do at this point is maintain FC of 15 ppm this evening before bed, check it in the am, bring back to 15 and cover the pool for the day since it’s supposed to be mostly sunny and go from there.

Thanks again for the guidance!
