Spring Conversion Baquacil to Chlorine

Just to give you a slight idea of this amazing transformation! The pics don’t do it justice. That’s 3’ deep and already clearing up real nice!
FC is between 14 and 15 by adding 1/2 gal every 30 min or so. Testing every 15 min to stay on top of it!!!!!

When you become a TFP junky for real (we get ‘em hooked on the chlorine juice and they never leave …) you will look back at those picture and, like the rest of us, think, “ewe!! What the heck is wrong with that water?!?”

It’s a medical condition called Sparklipoolitis and, sadly, there no cure. Symptoms include -

• Completely rational fear and loathing of any body of water not maintained by you;
• Dry heaves whenever you step into someone else’s pool;
• Constant testing of your own pool water;
• Snickering, chortling and rolling of the eyeballs whenever some non-TFP pool owner tries to give you advice;
• Revulsion at the thought of stepping into a pool store.

There is no cure but with time and counseling you can learn to adjust to a world where everyone else’s pool sucks and yours does not. Also, you will likely find more teenagers hanging out at your pool than anyone else’s. If they start to get too annoying, just turn the garden hose on them and shoo them off …

What is the weather where you’re at? For giggles, it maybe worth your while to attempt an Overnight Chlorine Loss Test tonight. I doubt you’ll pass, but I’ll be rather interested in seeing just how much of a drop your chlorine levels will go.

Cloudy in the 50’s and down to 38 tonight. Starting to lose less and less. Gonna stay with it for a while tonight as long as I can! Down to adding half gallon / 30 min and maybe better soon, as the sun is already setting here.
Wow!!! One day of chl add and its stabilizing quick!

Coulda poured it in the pool and the baqua would have left freely on its own.

Can you clearly tell if the drain cover screws are Phillips head or flat head … until you can, the water is not clear.
