If I want to shock my pool once a week can anyone help me figure out what I should bring chlorine level to? The pool calculator only does SLAM, Not a quick shock.
My cya is 50 so I keep my FC at 6 all the time.
Thanks

One of the tenets of TFP is that we don't shock the pool. We only raise the FC to SLAM levels if there is a problem, e.g., algae. So, there won't be a recommendation for a level for a weekly shock as we don't do that.

TFP does not recommend a "shock". TFP recommends keeping free chlorine levels at target levels at all times to prevent algea.

I have been using the TFP method for almost two full seasons, I keep my FC 1-2 ppm above target, test chlorine & and PH everyday, TA & CH once a week and salt once a month.

I have not had any algea since I adopted the TFP method and I have not "shocked" the pool since 2020
