Salt Too High

I would strongly suggest you get the Taylor 1766..I know first hand salt strips don't work that well, I almost added too much salt when I first installed mine.
But not too uncommon for the SWG to read different then your test but not usually that much.

You have two sets of data, and neither would be considered accurate for the actual salt level in your pool. Any SWCG is not known to be super accurate for measuring actual salt content (maybe close) and strips are the worst tool for measuring anything. A real salt test will contain two reagents for an accurate salt test as mentioned above.

hi david. Newb to the forum, so take my comments with a grain of salt (pun intended), but one thing i have learned after 10 years with a salt pool is to
1) never trust what the panel says for salt level
2) never trust what the store says for salt level
3) test strips are hit or miss - i/ve had them read as much as 1000ppm off
4) accurate salt levels can only be obtained by chemical titration (Taylor K-1766)

I know everyone seems to complain about the "mad scientist" test kits, but there are a couple that are essential in my opinion. This is kit is one of them - and it's easy to use.
