Ok so, decided this year after a very successful opening to clean my sand. We’ve never done it before but felt necessary to improve filtration (sand was put in in 2010).
The clamp bolts were rusted and one broke. Had to get a new clamp. So we get it off finally and are cleaning the sand and I stepped on the pvc pipe, and broke it. So I’ve got the piping situation figured out but when we put the collar clamp on it will not screw completely together. I’ve got on both sides about 1/2” that doesn’t meet together like the old rubber one did. The new one is a thick molded plastic, not rubber. Is this normal? Is it ok that it doesn’t meet?
