Ryan, I also live in Modesto. I started my build pretty close to the same time you started. I have been so impressed with your build I never bothered to post mine. Everything looks amazing congrats!

Uh oh, CALLING KIM. We have another who is building in secret and following other builds but not letting us follow his :(
Banks are open late in 2017 so let us in to see your secret build :)

And Ryan everything turned out amazing

Thanks Amy Jo! That was our goal. Once it's all done, we are hoping it appears as those it was all original and designed with the house. We are trying hard to totally stay period appropriate and match the style of the house :)

Seems like it's working!

Then BRAVO - because that is exactly what you have accomplished! This one deserves a magazine spread!

As suggested you can join, it's tax deductible, but you can also share a folder from an online storage repository. I used Google Drive where I keep all kinds of electronic garbage  but I just shared a folder for my build. I have unlimited storage space for pictures now. There is a size limit with the TFP support membership.

So I was going to post a picture of the mulberry tree roots, but it looks like I'm out of space for attachments. How does one fix that? Thanks :)

Wow, Ryan, I think that is the first picture I've seen of the front of your house. I knew it was a mid-century modern...but the only word I can use to describe it is "Fabulous". As AmyJo already said, this is magazine quality. I think I will be getting a lot of ideas from you....hint hint...I am already planning to paint my house grey with white trim....also a nod to Joannie. Is the outdoor kitchen a long-term plan or can we look forward to seeing that soon?

Thanks Tony :) The outdoor kitchen will likely be in the next year or two - once we finish the plants things will settle down for a bit of time. I need to recharge the checkbook after all of this crazyness!

I really do appreciate the compliments, we are hoping it all turns out as good as it was designed!

That is a lot of green making there! Will you hand dig the holes?

Kim:kim:

This is one area where I am going to get a little help. Everything will be hand dug, but I've got 3 guys helping me get it all planted. Our goal is to have it all in this weekend, with the full irrigation system. It's going to be EXTREMELY hot over the next week here in the Central Valley and these plants need to get out pots and into the ground as soon as possible. Tonight, we got almost all of the front yard planted and about 25% of the irrigation done.

Everything has been soaked :) Lots of water!!!

This is my favorite part. I love plants

Me too! It's amazing how much just having them sitting in pots changes things. They add so much texture and depth to things.

Once the plants are all in with irrigation, I think we will be likely be building fencing next - and we need to paint the shed that is in our dog yard.... The honey do list is quite long this summer. Once fences are in, I think we'll likely want to do rocks and DG to "finish" the major landscaping things. Plus, it'll mean less weed management :)
