IceShadow’s pool thread 2022

The trees alone would be doing quite a bit of a number on the water clarity.

Well done on the 10 yr old doing work around the house and yard! That is good parenting right there. Nothing wrong in telling a child to do manual labor of any kind but for him to step up makes it even better!
The funny thing is, he volunteered. Been watching a lot of power washing videos on YouTube I think :ROFLMAO:

OR he is going to hit you up for some thing later.............Hey Dad, you know when I powerwashed the pool deck??? LOL
He stopped after doing a small amount so now it looks worse and I don’t have time to finish it.

Oh well! I doubt anyone will notice at the party for his little league teammates and family on Sunday.

Not much PSI increase today. Light test is looking good today, I think.

Had to clean up a couple of mice from the skimmer, that was nice.

Cleared off some of the pine needles with a leaf blower and tried to keep stuff out of the pool, but some got in. Light still looks pretty good.

Plan right now is to keep up with the DE, because why not? But the PSI hasn't gone up so it may be done catching what it can. At least anything in quantity.

The pool party is Sunday. I'll bump up FC before and after it. Target around 10 or so for my CYA of 30-40 both times.

On Tuesday we leave for a vacation in Vermont until coming back 11-12 days later. I'll bump up the FC one last time and throw the solar cover on the pool. That should keep debris out of the skimmer. I have a lady stopping by to feed our cats daily (one has medication so the auto-feeder alone won't work), and she agreed to throw a gallon in a couple of times a week to help with the FC levels. With the cover on, the phosphate remover, and the borates, I should be as set as I can for being clear when we get back. :)

Circling back on this from another thread of mine:

Much better picture. Yes, all but one. There may just be something sitting at that burner orifice. Before dismantling, try a few blasts of computer duster right in that area. Seeing the blue flame changes things.

I forgot to do this, but remembered today because the gas company was doing updates to our gas lines before my street gets repaved later this summer. I asked for a larger gas service just to be safe in case the pool heater is going at the same time as other appliances and they upgraded me to a 425 CFH meter.

That made me think about the one burner with orange flame. Checked it, still orange:

So I gave it some blasts of compressed air at the side closest to me where I thought the burner orifice was, and:

Full blue, no more orange to speak of. 💪 Thanks @1poolman1 !

There will always be something to filter out because it takes the filter a week to catch up from one breezy day and in that week, 2 more are breezy.

If you are where your at, or better, you're doing it right. :)
