I am sure he understands and is happy to have the help!
Good plan to keep the filter running to get the rest of the stuff out!

What special precautions did you take with screws? Just curious! When I worked in nuclear power, all our tools used over water were tethered. Some things could not be retrieved. Some things could cause Serious damage. Like screws.
I bought a kit but the pump seal was a different size from the original, so I put it back in.The picture with the shaft seal to me isn't a good sign. Can't picture the way it goes together but the plastic on either side of it is scored up.
It’s time for the trees to drop their thingies that cover the growing leaves. So I’ll be filtering those out. Another windstorm will drop a nice thick layer of pine needles too, but for now, we’ll see what the DE does. It's a never ending battle this time of year and again in the fall. Between the trees and the farm fields planting, there is just fine crud being blown in all the time.
Wow!!! That’s incredible!!!So it looks pretty clear.

The filter PSI went from 15.5 after I backwashed yesterday to 18 today, so I’ll backwash again tomorrow and add some DE to the sand filter.
