High Pressure on Hayward S244T Sand Filter

520,

Welcome to TFP... A great place to learn all the basics of how a pool works... :shark:

If the pressure gauge does not return to zero when the pump is off the gauge is bad.. Just that simple.

Thanks,

Jim R.

520,

The standard pressure gauge goes up to about 60 PSI. This makes it hard to read small differences.

I suggest you get a Glycerin gauge, that will not freeze in the winter, and that only goes up to 30 PSI..

If your pool is green, then you have a chemical problem, not a filter problem. Green water will clog a filter in a very short period of time.

I suggest that you take a peak at our Pool School and see what we are all about..

Thanks for posting,

Jim R.
