Yard fill? What does this mean?

They called you on a SUNDAY??? NICE!

Kim:kim:

As part of my overall build, we're having our yard extended. Originally, right beyond the edge of our patio dropped off at the steepest point at around 30-40% grade, other areas were 10-15%. We're leveling this off a fair amount and pushing the drop off out by about 25-30 feet.

All in this means they're bringing in about ~1000 yards of fill material between clean fill and loam.

Got home today, and they brought a skid steer and prepped the haul road behind the pool to prep for the dumping..

Nice to hear you've got some action again! Hope the rain holds out a bit for you and I this week long enough to get some work done. :)

Gotta love a well thought out install.. hopefully that follows through on the equipment install!

I am HAPPY now!!!!! Look how much usable you will have now! WOW they did a great job! I see the brought in two different colors of dirt. One is fill and the other soil?

THANKS!

Kim:kim:

The majority is rough fill, then the very last truck is clean fill.. still have another day or days to bring in more clean fill and then loam. I turned the camera off early today (oops!) so we missed one load, but I'll make another video of the rest over time.

...an email drops in saying when we signed our contract in March White Diamonds and Aqua Blue were the same price. April 1 Aqua Blue increased. They are passing along the increase. We changed to Aqua Blue a month ago, and they are just getting around to telling us about the increase.

"I’m not trying to nickel and dime you here..."

Definitely understand the change and therefore the increase is on us, but again 34 days between the change order and notification that it costs more. I pressed hard on finish date and remaining tasks.

Per the last schedule update, they have 8.5-9 days to complete:

Natural Stone coping
Tile + grout
Equipment plumbing
Decking grading + bonding
Inspections? Not sure if the decking bonding needs an inspection or not

From there they have 3.5 - 4 days to complete:

1000 sq ft of pavers
Gunite cleaning/prep for pebblesheen

I was able to confirm Kadison is doing our pebblesheen, they are the only licensed applicator in New England, they are the bottleneck on finish!
