Couldn't find the perfect clock so....

Looks very nice! Though honestly as I was scrolling down, I was expecting the time to be set to 5:00 with no battery in the clock.
Hubby always wears his watch in the pool, and I got tired of having to ask him what time it was all the time. That said, for most intents and purposes, it IS always 5 o'clock here. :)

Where did you get the clock mechanism? We have two clocks we have been using outdoors by the pool. Neither is an "outdoor" clock, and neither is ever directly exposed to rain - yet both stopped working within 6-9 months. I'm looking for a place to get outdoor rated clock mechanisms.

Nice work on the clock!!!

I can't say for the OP, but I have used Klockit.com to purchase clock mechanisms and parts. Now I've not specifically looked for an outdoor mechanism, but if one exists, I'll bet they would have it.

The location where we wanted to put a clock is not covered and is directly exposed to all the weather elements. It was also up high and a considerable distance from the pool. Since we wanted to be able to read it from the pool, we needed a large clock.

Finding a large clock that is rated for direct exposure to rain was quite a challenge. I found this clock:

It is 30 inches in diameter. I take it down and store it inside for winter. This is its 3rd year, and I've seen no signs of water getting into the clock mechanism.

Hmmm. We just got a $15 kit from Amazon. Not marketed as outdoor. It's not exposed to rain, but it's early days.. we put it out there in May. Fingers crossed.

I always have my Garmin watch on so I never installed a clock. I also tend to go more by feel and sun angle when at the pool. But I do like the aesthetics.

I have a clock we bought when we lived in Bavaria.... it runs backwards!

It is adorned with the Bavarian flag colors and the saying "In Bayern geh'n die Uhren Anders" which sort of translates to "Time goes differently in Bavaria" in a laid back way.

People will stare at that clock trying to figure out the time, scratching their heads until we tell them to read it backwards.

my Alexa is stubborn and not very smart. She won’t do anything without being connected to the internet, Can’t even turn down her voice (volume) or obey simple commands (like stop talking). kinda like my kids, lol.
She is good for freaking my dogs out sometimes " alexa what does a squirrel sounds like" Must be close because they will tilt their heads :)

I have this guy outside. I doubt it's rated for that, but it's under an eve and still working after at least 4 years. I have those La Crosse radio/atomic clocks all over my house, 'cause I hate changing clock times almost as much as I hate Standard time (Daylight savings time forever I say!!). All clocks are always within 1 second of each other, which is nice, and while the inside ones sometimes take a while to honor the time changes, the outdoor one is always dead on. I painted/textured the rim to match my other outdoor stuff, but that doesn't compare to your awesome parrot clock. Nice job!

So I bought one of these (they used to be $25):

With an echo dot clock and I bring it by the pool on the towel where phones (and dogs) go when we are swimming. It has a clock so I can just look at it, and I can still yell at it to change the song ( I never want to hear Tears for Fears again).
