Closing- blowing drain and floor heads lines

Hi, winterizing the sand filter in ground pool in the home we revert purchased. I read through most posts and was able to blow lines ( I think) Looking for help ,

Sharing the photos

1. Removed plugs on the filter and pump and let the water drain. What am I supposed to replace all the plugs, pressure gauge and see glass with? I read they should come off.

2. I was able to blow the 2 Skimmers using each skimmer line one at a time. I blew the 3 jets we have using the wall returns pipeline. But I don’t see any change when I turn on the floor heads line and the drain ( not together) see photos. I’m wondering what’s supposed to happen when these lines are on? . I want to make sure I’m blowing all lines.

3 what to do with the equalizer hole in the skimmer? It still has water.

4. My pump head is sealed for some reason or May be it’s too tight? We tried but could not open the head. We unscrewed the pipe opening hear the filter and blew lines.

Thanks in advance.406A8B43-10AA-40F3-B41C-FD38F46787D8.jpeg406A8B43-10AA-40F3-B41C-FD38F46787D8.jpeg

Neither are worth the trouble IMO because they're so cheap. Buy new $15 ones on year 7(?) When they break. You can cover the holes with gorilla tape for now if you'd like.

What are you blowing with ? It's likely not powerful enough to clear the floor lines. Which is ok, as long as you blew the water in the pipe below the frost line. It doesn't need to be clear at 8 ft deep, only 2 ft or so for NJ.
My pump head is sealed for some reason
I had one similar and used a 2x4 for leverage like so. A pry bar or anything long and solid would word the same.

If you get it off, use a good deal of lube on the lid O-ring to help next time.

I’m using the shop vac for blowing lines
OK so you won't get bubbles out of the floor drains. With a good seal, it likely pushed the water far enough. If the valve was closed under pressure, then that's about all you can do without a cyclone. (y)

My whole hearted advice to you would be to hire a professional company to close for you this year and take detailed notes so that next year you can do it yourself. One mistake can be very costly so this is what I call cheap insurance.

. How do one identify the frost line?

It's plugged from the factory and was never used because they plumbed the main drain back to the pad. It's fine as is. Ice expands up as it freezes so it has plenty of room the direction it wants to go.
