Hi everyone,
I'm at the end of my rope... I'm sure I have a blockage somewhere but can't get any pool professional to help me. I've had 3 people here and no help, the last one told me not to call him again, there was nothing he could do, and he didn't even try to troubleshoot the problem, and told me my suggestion (that there is a blockage somewhere) was impossible.
My pool has worked great for several years with no issues. In March I added a new PoolRx filter that I've been using for the past 3 years that solved my constantly turning green pool. It's supposed to be a slow release that lasts about 9 months. After installing, I came out the next morning and my pool was a neon teal milk color and my metal levels were off the charts. I spent a few months cleaning, constantly removing and cleaning my filter (degreasing as advised) and finally got my metals within a high, but normal range. Everything was back to normal for about a week and then I lost pressure. Dropped and is holding steady at 10psi. no bubbles in the jacuzzi and not enough pressure for the vac to work.
I read all the posts I've found here relating to this issue and replaced the pressure gauge, ortega check valves, jandy 3 way valves, backflush valves and there are no visible leaks anywhere. I purchased new grids and added new DE, but I noticed that the DE has not fully collected on the grids. I'm sure there is a blockage somewhere between the skimmer and the filter. But 3 different pool professionals have told me that it isn't possible and they won't help me and they can't snake the lines or offer any other suggestions as to how to unclog. The last person told me to drain the pool and replace the water, which doesn't seem like that would be the issue, as my water tests show I'm within normal ranges, and of course, my area is now in draught restrictions so I can't get a varience to replace the water, but will do so if you all advise me to.
Any other suggestions you can provide? How can I snake the drain myself? Couldn't find any videos... how can I find a professional in my area that will snake the drain? or should I call a normal plumber??
Trying to put my house on the market and need the pool to look good asap, and don't have the funds to completely rebuild the pool. Thank you!
