Per the CDC: Because Baylisascaris eggs (which can be a very bad deal) are particularly tough, adding chlorine to the water will not kill them.

Mine also likes hanging around 7.9-8.0'ish. I did fight it for a bit, but gave up as my CSI really stays close to 0 with me not touching it and it stays nice and clear.

You know, I think a pool's clarity is the closest thing to an actual, workable magic 8 ball I have ever seen. It took a little while, but I can now pretty much tell at a glance if something is askew (usually high Ph which is the only thing I need to adjust on a frequent basis) and my testing...

There is no magic solution that will fix this quickly as it seems though you would like (wouldn't we all?) The SLAM process is the best and fastest way to accomplish a perfectly clear and safe pool but it will take AT LEAST a couple/few days...you have to patient and persistent. Just adding a...

Once I have gotten the SWCG dialed in, I check the FC and PH every couple or 3 days. I run all the tests about once every couple of weeks. If it rains a significant amount, I will also run them all. After a while your pool will give you "clues" when things are askew. I can tell by the clarity...

Ah, solid cell...gotcha. In that case I second the recommendation to pull off the cell and clean it.

I actually am not seeing a debate in this thread. A discussion on testing techniques? Yep. A couple opinions on what users "see" on the OPs test? Yep. But debate? Nah.
