Down to 74. It feels like summer has ended here, too. Only had about 10 good swim days. :cry:

Any advice on a heat pump for our 18' round Intex? Our local pool stores are no help. They are not Intex friendly. What brand/size hp is recommended? We have an electrician. Do we need a plumber? We consistently use a solar cover. But don't get enough sunny days for solar panels. Thanks

We had a mini heatwave in the 90's. Pool was 82. :) I'm glad we got to use it a few days. But that may be it til next year.

Hi. I am also looking for a storage solution. A trash can sounds good. But what about any moisture inside the hose?

I use Aqua Chek strips too. Sometimes the result chart on the labels are different from one bottle to another. Even when new & purchased at the same time. Why?

My pool is 71 today. Was 65 all last week. It's been cool & rainy here in NJ. I'm getting impatient.

Ditto. It was 79 here. DH went in. I stayed on the floatie. Gonna close this week :cry: Already counting the days til next summer. 8-)

dmanb2b, Yes, it's fairly small ... 18x52. I appreciate your suggestions. Particularly, when to use the solar cover & run the pump. I like reading all the replies and learning.

Sean, thanks for your info. Our pool temp has been 79-80 all month. A bit cool. We spent most time on the floatie instead of in the water. My goal is 84. And 1 hr of swim time per day. Also hoping to extend it thru Sept, if possible.

Hi Craig. Thanks for your reply. We have NG service here. But it's mostly concrete between the house & pool. There is only a narrow path of grass that was recently dug for the electric line & pump outlet. No spa.

We are currently testing 2 solar heaters & using a blue solar cover. But it may not be effective here. August has been cool & cloudy & wet. I want to enjoy the few sunny days we get. What is involved with installing natural gas, propane or electric heat? Do I contact a pool contractor...

Chilly 79-80 all month. Gonna try a couple of solar heaters this week & hope for a few degrees warmer for the holiday weekend.

Re: Intex Ultra 16' with Haywood Heater, Intex Sand Filter & Very nice. I hope we can add a heater like that to our pool.
