    Happily Donated again this year

Good Morning. I'm just catching up with the February request re support posted on the Home page. Sorry to read about the challenges and escalating expenses. It was very helpful to read the various posts about server costs, app costs, etc. I gladly donated yet again. The resources here...

    Problems with Ducks

I'm not always around when the mating pair visits and we no longer have our dog. Two days ago I had to chase them 4 times within an hour. They seem to like the daffodils (behind the blue liquid chlorine container), possibly as a nesting area. So I rigged up these two poles, the float, and put...

    Pool Math........The App

Okay, used the app again just now to log some tests and an addition. If "quarts" could be added to the additions choices, that would be helpful. Gallons is a choice; recommended dosages are given in Gallons/qts/cups. Only way to enter with precision is then to use ounces. An alternative...

    Pool Math........The App

FWIW, app does remember the % bleach I'm using. I'm using App on an iPhone 6S. When app provides the amount of additions, it's in various measures. I use the qts/cups/ounces setting as my measuring pot is one quart. When I go to log the chemical addition, I have to use ounces. Quarts is not...

    Pool Math........The App

Just renewed my subscription. I really like the ease of using the App and want to continue supporting its development. My biggest wish is that when I get recommended dosages in quarts, or similar, that I be able to enter a different amount but the same unit of measure as used in the...

Is there any risk to boosting the FC to crazy high levels before going on vacation?

If you have a solar cover you can try leaving this on while you are gone. Works for me, but not perfect. You raise the FC level, then roll out the cover. I've only tried this for one week at a time. "Your mileage will vary."

    Pool Math........The App

Re: New TFP App Thanks. I didn't realize with the July hard stop date, that there was a benefit to TFP in removing the Beta, and d/ling the app itself. I just did all that this morning. It wasn't as smooth a process as I thought might be possible. However, in the end, I was able to get...

    Pool Math........The App

I can not tell you how much I love this idea!!!! Then again, how do you get the the measurement from the proper depth below the surface? I know, there could be a TFP branded dongle and lead. The lead would have a mark at 18 inches, etc. Do you take measurements from the center of the pool...

Export Backup Bug Report - I am unable to export backup my data from my A1458 model iPad. I am able to export successfully from my iPhone 6S. Uninstalling and reinstalling did not solve the problem. Making sure time and date stamp was available, as though logging a new entry, achieved the...

    What the duck!

I've successfully used cheap pool toys to keep them away. Beach balls , etc.

    Pool Math........The App

FWIW, I'm another iOS user that had to delete and reinstall. No data were lost.

    Pool Math........The App

FWIW, I haven't lost data (yet?). Good reminder for me to continue logging into my spreadsheet. I have noticed a red dot in the app's icon that does not seem to go away, which it did previously. I understood the dot to mean an updated version had been installed.

Why does my pH need to be in the 7's?

Now, where's the Tylenol? Well, at least I can help on one point! You want Motrin and not Tylenol. My assumption is you're taking for sore muscles and not some sort of headache.

Is there an optimal time to replace vs. repair?

My first pool. Pool is 10 years old. Have Polaris 360, which was originally installed. Two summers ago, I rebuilt using Polaris's rebuild kit. Four summers ago replaced all attachment hoses. Now, the top housing has cracked and split. Replacement top on order. With a Pebbletec pool, fine...

    Pool Math........The App

Thanks. Thought I needed to use email link, but was able to d/l TestFlight and install TFP app. I then promptly used the wrong social login account and am trying to reinstall with proper a/c.

Thanks for the response re CSI. FWIW, I've never tested for salt. I also do not have a SWG. I thus have no clue what the proper default might be. Still learning after all these years !

    Pool Math........The App

Just downloaded iOS version, entered previous 3 days tests, and just added today's fourth test. Recommend that CC be positioned immediately below FC for data entry for entering data . When entering CC, I had to enter a leading zero for app to accept. In other words, I could not enter .2, I...

Ammonia question - is there an acceptable level, or should my goal be 0ppm?

Thanks for the response. ...because in one CYA test, my result was zero and I detected an odor from the pool. Perhaps I should have re-tested the CYA before going and purchasing the ammonia test kit, but the combination of the two led me to want to eliminate ammonia, or determine it, as an...

Ammonia question - is there an acceptable level, or should my goal be 0ppm?

Thank you Isaac-1 for the quick response. So, since it's been four days and 3 tests of .25ppm, any additional thoughts? The FC is holding, in fact overnight it went up by 1, which I'm attributing to the pucks. Bill

Ammonia question - is there an acceptable level, or should my goal be 0ppm?

Greetings, Had a bout of algae after many F90+ days. Algae started in the shallow end;I was running filteration at night. Pool is in direct sunlight for at least 10 hours per day this time of year. Have since changed the pump running time to during the day. (For the past week, it is on...

    TFPC TA recommendations?

chem geek, should we be posting our CSIs then when asking for guidance/opinions? It might be the first step forward to moving away from Recommended Levels like the break away from FC/CYA. I do feel I have a handle on the FC/CYA but am very much still working towards a better handle on the...

Is there a consensus on how many hours is "very high levels of direct sunlight"?

Re: Is there a consensus on how many hours is "very high levels of direct sunlight"? Thanks Pabeader! You are absolutely correct. I downloaded the page last year and use it locally rather than on the Internet. (My signature even points to the correct version.) I know there's a bad...

Is there a consensus on how many hours is "very high levels of direct sunlight"?

Re: Is there a consensus on how many hours is "very high levels of direct sunlight"? Thanks for all the responses. Using The Pool Calculaor, which I always use, and assuming the FC levels are ppm, then it looks like my usage/dosing is spot on at around 3ppm per day. I think I will not tempt...
