Pool cleaning robot recommendations for an intricate 13K Gallon pool

I've decided to buy a pool robot to clean my pool after firing the pool cleaning people (for doing a lousy job) and discovering I really hate vacuuming the pool. My main concern is that my pool has a rather intricate design, with a sunken bar, several benches and a sun shelf. I tried a loaner...

Borates on a pool with high TA fill water

I have, but due to evaporation my pool is constantly getting fresh water, which has a pretty high TA and so it is pretty hard to lower it and keep it low. I don't mind using a bit more of MA if I get the other benefits, I'm more concerned about causing problems since my TA cannot get that low.

Borates on a pool with high TA fill water

My pool's fill water has very high TA (320+) and I've been considering adding Borates to the pool. Mostly for the water feel effects (silkiness, sparkles) since I use an automatic pH dispenser to keep pH at the right level. Due to the fill water I can't get my TA lower than 100. Using MA I get...

Where to buy Jandy AquaPure Power Center

Oh this is great! I already have a trichlor Nature2 Installed so retrofitting the FusionSoft should be much easier (since I won't need to cut pipes or the like). Thanks for the suggestion One question regarding this. The reason I'd like to stay with Jandy is so I can get control of the SWG...

Where to buy Jandy AquaPure Power Center

I understand. But thinking from that perspective, I'd rather have the AquaPure so I can control everything from my phone instead of having to monitor equipment separately on the pad. So going back to my original question, is there a way to get it for a DIY install? I'm not as worried for the...

Where to buy Jandy AquaPure Power Center

I have an AqualinkRS automation system which is why I was looking for Jandy. Are any of the third-party SWGs compatible with the Aqualink?

Where to buy Jandy AquaPure Power Center

I'm thinking of changing my pool from LC to SWG and wanted to explore what options I have to buy an AquaPure power center to drive a 1400 cell. Searched on INYOPools but it says Jandy doesn't allow it to be sold online. I really don't want to have to go through a pool builder to install it.

Question on how to bring TA and CH to recommended ranges

Thanks for the recommendation. Do you know what is the difference between those and the Jandy TruClear?

Question on how to bring TA and CH to recommended ranges

I got a peristaltic pump for this and will get it operational this Sunday (using an already installed pH sensor for signaling), I'll be stocking up on MA :) I have an AqualinkRS 8 control panel, which I assume should be able to control a SWG but I'm not sure if that is the case. I'm also very...

Question on how to bring TA and CH to recommended ranges

You are absolutely right. I was thinking that CH dropped recently when I added new water to the pool, but I was doing a water exchange to lower CYA, so of course I drained a ton of water with higher CH (and it would explain why my CH is now trending towards my fill water). But I sure hope to...

Question on how to bring TA and CH to recommended ranges

I'm not sure if I want to go to SWG. I know the salt content of the pool would be significantly less than the ocean, but I lived in a coastal area for a few years and the amount of salt getting deposited everywhere and rusting stuff was *really* frustrating. Where I live there is constant wind...

Question on how to bring TA and CH to recommended ranges

Just tested my water and CH is 75. Which means that the pool water will always be lowering CH :( Yep, it is still inline (I'm thinking of removing it and selling it) but it has no pucks. On it :D

Question on how to bring TA and CH to recommended ranges

PH: 8.2 CH: 75 (very much not 750) TA: 390 (did this test twice)

Looking for Feedback on (Ambitious?) Plan for Pool Maintenance

I don't intend to use the ORP probe to correlate the water's actual FC level, more of an early warning system that "something is off". At the beginning I assume I will have to do frequent testing (daily?) of FC to learn the nuances of my pool. My hope is that after some close monitoring, I can...

Question on how to bring TA and CH to recommended ranges

Thanks for the advice. I'll start on TA at a leisurely pace and then (if possible) try to do it faster once the CH is at the right values Living in Houston metro, I would have assumed my water was super hard, but every time I replaced some water on my pool to lower CYA (did three different...

Question on how to bring TA and CH to recommended ranges

Yesterday I finally received my TF-Pro test kit and got to work on getting the chemistry right. Before receiving the kit I exchanged a ton of water out of my pool to drop my CYA level from 121 (a pool store measurement, but it was consistent across a couple of stores so I went with it while...

Looking for Feedback on (Ambitious?) Plan for Pool Maintenance

I do have an ORP probe already, but from what I've read, the relationship between FC and ORP is murky at best. My plan was to use the ORP sensor to detect when something weird is going on in the pool (ex. my pool's orp generally goes from 650 to 800, then last week it went to 100. That's when I...

Looking for Feedback on (Ambitious?) Plan for Pool Maintenance

Makes sense since the test only measures in increments of 10. What I tried to say is that I'm going to target the midpoint between the recommended ranges and wanted to get some feedback on whether that is (in general) a good idea, or if I should target the higher end or the lower end of the...

Looking for Feedback on (Ambitious?) Plan for Pool Maintenance

Thanks for this. A lot of good advice. Is there any place that has decent reviews of Pool Robots? Is there any way to test drive one?

Looking for Feedback on (Ambitious?) Plan for Pool Maintenance

I have a PebbleTec plaster and as you mentioned it has a separate warranty. They gave me the information for all of it on a folder after construction. From your comment, it seems like their "extended" warranty is pretty much no warranty at all. I haven't stopped service yet. Want to make sure to...

Looking for Feedback on (Ambitious?) Plan for Pool Maintenance

New (and ambitious) pool owner looking for advice. I finished construction of a pool a couple of months back (13K Gallon, IG plaster, Nature2 Trichlor, Cartridge Filter, Jandy VSP Main pump, Gas Heater, 3 additional water feature pumps) and decided to try out a pool service agreement with the...
