    No cya when testing

Without going to far into that, as long as my levels are good, the chlorine would have killed any bacteria, right?

    No cya when testing

I had my cya at the correct level last year. I did not winterize the pool. When I tested cya using my Taylor kit, I’m showing no cya now. From reading the abc’s the only way I can reduce cya is drain and refill. So I’m lost. Beginning in September, from hurricane Florence till a few weeks ago...

    Reordering test kit

I purchased the Taylor 2006c kit last year. I’ve been searching the threads, because I thought I had remembered seeing that the kits were only good for one year. So I am at the point if that is true, do I just need to order specific reagent. Or do I buy a new kit for this season?

Hurricane Florence and soft sided AGP

I'm seeing post about preparing for hurricanes, but haven't seen specific post of soft side AGP's. I'm directly in the projected path for the Hurricane, not sure if it is going to be ok. We have horses so I'm trying to get all that figured out, but i don't know if i should be draining the pool...

    New Pool

All the stores around me do not cary liquid chlorine, and there are 4 close together. I just use the 6% cleaning bleach that walmart sells the cleaning bleach is the same thing and is in a gallon jug instead of the small 3.5 quart i think it is, and it is cheaper!

New to TFP, new pool, it's all new to me!

Yeah, it's pretty much having me add 2 quarts daily, very consistent. I'll be going out of town for a few days, and may just tell the wife to add 2 quarts each night when the pump turns on

New to TFP, new pool, it's all new to me!

Just want to make sure these numbers sound good. I raised the FC to 8 like you said yesterday, i just checked tonight 24 hours later, and it has dropped to 4.6. I have raised it back up to 8. Is that about a normal loss i should expect in 24 hours? I will add it was around 100 degrees today, and...

Ok so I'm still trying to get my cya up to 30, it's getting there because the water is starting to get a little cloudy but just not there yet. In the meantime, I'm trying to keep the FC at 5, in a 24 hour window when i recheck, it's almost like clockwork it will be at around 1.4 and have me add...

I appreciate the reply. I updated my previous post, i have some Clorox chlorine stabilizer, says it is 100% Cyanuric acid so i will add that in a sock, I am going to suspend it through the hole in my skimmer lid, so it does not obstruct flow. How do i know how much chlorine to add, with to...
