    OmniLogic Firmware Upgrade Available

That’s good news. We had a user post about bricking his OmniHub after updating from 3.0-5.0 or 5.1. He had a Hayward engineer come out and swap out his controller for a new one. He kept the old one so they could figure out what was causing it to brick jumping from 3.0 to the current which was...

    Hayward Aquavac 650

I know it’s an older model but we had a couple laying around the warehouse. I was able to get one running( flashing blue light). I took it completely apart clean wheel/brush assembly, checked both floating cable ends reinserted and it came to life. Used Wi-Fi app and did some direct driving...

Valve shut on pump - how to prevent it

You would have to add 2nd body of water and redo your water features with valve option and interlock each with the spa flow sensor .

Valve shut on pump - how to prevent it

I know there is a way 2 add more than o e valve to a feature. I don’t know how helpful that would be with both features under the same icon. You wouldn’t be able to turn on each one individually but it would be a fail safe to not have the pump run dry. You could program the pump as Spa but...

Valve shut on pump - how to prevent it

Yeah there is not any easy way. No option for flow sensor on water feature pump. No way to truly get it to be fail safe.

Valve shut on pump - how to prevent it

So I read through the OP some. This would take some programming. If you add water feature I’m not sure if you can pick the same dedicated pump for each water feature and then add interlock to each valve. I wish I had a PL in front of me but I think you can add another flow sensor and interlock...

Upgrading Omnihub Firmware from 3.0.0 to 5.0.1 via USB - Reboot not completing

My tech did send me 3.2 and 4.8 but at one point I had access to a site that had every MSP just can’t find it right now. It was tricky to navigate. Don’t know if I am allowed to share these files though….😏

Upgrading Omnihub Firmware from 3.0.0 to 5.0.1 via USB - Reboot not completing

I had a link of all the old firmware updates emailed to me a while back from Hayward. If I find it I’ll post it.

Upgrading Omnihub Firmware from 3.0.0 to 5.0.1 via USB - Reboot not completing

So evidently you are not the only one. It’s supposed to be 3.0 firmware and above is ok to jump to 5.0 or 5.1. Before 3.0 you’re supposed to step up firmware updates and not jump straight to 5.0. The tech said other people with 3.0 firmware have bricked their controller jumping up that high. So...

Upgrading Omnihub Firmware from 3.0.0 to 5.0.1 via USB - Reboot not completing

I not aware of any way to actually boot from USB. Doing a backup even though it was a new board would still save the old MSP firmware in the event of a failed update. Your controller could be bricked and you might need a new one. I can get ahold of my Hayward rep tomorrow morning and see if he...

Upgrading Omnihub Firmware from 3.0.0 to 5.0.1 via USB - Reboot not completing

Did you do a backup config? Have you tried rebooting with the usb drive inserted? When did you take the usb drive out after the update?

    Hayward Tristar 950 vsp leak.

I’m pretty sure it’s not the main seal where the basket attaches to the drive. I had an old dead drive to practice disassembly on and I thought there would be another seal behind towards the motor where the leak is but I only found a spring with 2 seals on either side over the motor shaft. Could...

Add wifi/app control to non wifi omnipl

Agreed. If your builder provides Hayward equipment they are an authorized Hayward dealer. They can get an OmniPL in a week or less from their distributor. We have distributors we can can use and between them any Hayward automation system is usually in stock. From salt ready PL’s to older...

Installing Wireless and Wired Remote for Omnilogic

I have used the wall mount before it’s really simple. As for the Wi-Fi controller I’m not sure. The wall mount should be wired to to the same connector as your pump and have an HUA or show up in your system info. If it doesn’t then it’s not wired correctly.

    Hayward OmniPL to OmniLogic

A chip that lets you plug your wired controller to the board. Without it you will have to use an onboard display which has a ribbon cable. The chip converts the ribbon cable connector to the 6 wire connector needed to plug your PL display in. That’s the connection that need the chip there’s no...

    Hayward OmniPL to OmniLogic

The Omni PL cabinet is a little smaller than the OmniLogic. I’m not sure if any brackets or mounting holes will line up correctly. If your PL has the display connection without the chip that you attach to the connector in place of the onboard Omni display you will have to get one or use the...

Add wifi/app control to non wifi omnipl

It is in the display. I have never seen a non Wi-Fi Omni pl only Omnilogic. You could buy a display that has Wi-Fi as long as it’s the same 6 wire connector at the board .

    Heat Pump Chiller and OmniPL

I wasn’t sure I haven’t seen any yet. I do know they fixed the round style heat/cool heat pumps to be fully automated with an RS485 connector. With firmware 4.8 and above you can select “Smart Heater” and pulls up an HUA for the heater. In the past there was only 1 relay for the heat/cool and...

    Heat Pump Chiller and OmniPL

Is it the new micro channel heater/chiller line of heat pumps Hayward just released? If it is it might have the RS485 connector. If not the post above is the way to do it.

shallow sump well, mud at the bottom

I have had to deal with that. I used a garden hose to break it up and a shop vac to suck it out. The well I cleaned was only 6 feet so luckily my shop vac hose made it to the bottom. I had a big shop vac.

AquaRite diagnostics not showing in OmniLogic

Do you have an Aquarite hooked up to your Omni ?If so do you control the Aquarite with the Omni or is the Aquarite not in slave mode? What model Aquarite? S3 or 900 series? If properly hooked up to automation it should read diagnostics through the Omni. If there is no comm cable and the Aquarite...

    Pool Heater Low Flow

Here is the pressure switch for the heater. That black nut can be adjusted. You have to chip away at the blue glue from the manufacturer to get it to spin. There’s a switch under the housing that closes when it contacts that nut/dial. I forget if it’s clockwise or counterclockwise to raise it...
